At a dark time for this industry, it's important to remember why we play games in the first place: to face setbacks, find new opportunities, and always hit continue.

I wrote about why #DragonAge Inquisition @bioware deserves to be a bit higher than it was but alas. <3 Loved working on this #TheGameAwards #GOTY list with other writers at @PunishedBacklog!
We've had 10 years of @thegameawards and their Game of the Year picks; how do the winners stack up? We had a site-wide vote, got in a huge Discord fight about it, and wrote about why these games are great. Excited to see the #GOTY2024 at #TheGameAwards! punishedbacklog.com/game-awa…

"Thank Goodness You're Here" is one of the most unhinged bits of content I've experienced in a while, and I absolutely loved it. I wrote why it's my Game of the Year at @PunishedBacklog. Great work @coalsupper @WontTodd @james_carbutt! #indiegames #goty punishedbacklog.com/goty-202…

I’m gonna say it, gonna say it with love because it’s a lot of friends doing it, getting mad at folks for being exciting about the MI movies is some dork shit. It’s like one of two good blockbusters we have left. You guys don’t need to be Very Serious About Film 24/7
Here's my latest Punished Notes, with the main topic: There Is No Game For This Moment
In the midst of a tense political moment, what art can we turn to for an escape? In some cases, @sam_martinelli writes, we can't. The latest edition of Punished Notes: punishedbacklog.com/no-game-…

The same people who likely whine about participation ribbon culture can’t help but show how entitled they feel to winning absolutely minor league extracurricular activities. If your daughter is going to be good at her chosen sport, I promise a trans girl isn’t going to stop her.
Democrats have lost their footing with mainstream Americans by pushing too far on cultural issues. Most Americans believe that allowing boys to compete in girls’ sports crosses a line — and is unfair to the girls who pour their heart and soul into training, only to lose out to biological boys. This sentiment isn’t partisan; it’s common sense.

Don’t trust any Democrat who would throw our trans family under the bus. It is weak and cowardly to do so, when they should be standing with all people against MAGA fascism. Without exception.
To the trans community I say know this: I will always have your backs.
at this point why not

Get the thinking in this kind of rebuttal, but something that people will have to come to terms with is that this voting mass doesn’t have Trump as an unknown or a belief in some hidden agenda to hide behind. The racism, fascism, etc were all front and center, and they chose it.
