Love to see it on a Monday morning. P.s. does anyone still trade FX or just me?

“There’s no one who can teach you how to drive. There’s no point trying to pay anyone to do so because it’s not going to work. You either have talent or you don’t”. Replace “trade” with any other skill. Golfing, painting, playing a musical instrument, reading, swimming, counting… This kind of rhetoric always annoys me, because it’s the exact same stuff I saw when I started out in 2015. It’s gatekeeping to make you feel like trading is some mystical skill that can’t be learned. ”Talent” spoken of here is a myth. No one is born with an inherent ability to trade profitably. Some people have natural proclivities that are advantageous in certain applications. That is true. The OP is flawed. The truth is, knowledge does not equal ability. The mistake most traders make is that they pursue knowledge and after years and tonnes of courses they have a head brimming with information but have no idea how to actually process and apply it in a way that’s conducive to consistent trading performance. The vast majority of trading courses and educators fall into this category - they are knowledge based, cover a large spectrum of topics with very shallow depth. The result is that you FEEL like you’ve gotten value because your knowledge has increased exponentially, however this has had no effect on your actual trading ability. It has at most increased your awareness, ability to spot opportunity and process market information - you’ve effectively become an analyst. Trading on the other hand is execution, most education falls short of this. Think of it like a driving school teaching you ABOUT cars, rather than how to drive. Real trading education should cover at least 3 areas: 1) Trade identification 2) Trade execution 3) Trade management The vast majority hit 1 and 3, skipping 2 entirely. I would posit that there’s a fourth, which almost no trading education even touches: 4) Edge creation I have consistently taught all four areas as I deem them all to be non-negotiable in creating professional traders. To loop back round to the OP - our student profitability is approx 63% over a 24 month period whilst the industry statistics are sub 10%. So either, somehow the majority of students we attract already have this mystical talent, or decent education actually works. You decide.
There’s no one who can teach you how to trade. There’s no point in trying to pay anyone to do so because it’s not going to work. You either have talent or you don’t. Anyone that’s claiming they can is a fucking liar. No videos, courses, analysis or mentoring is ever going to change that. There’s no point in investing your hard earned money into help unless you are already good and want to get better. And I have only ran into that situation twice. You either suck or you don’t. It’s unfortunate but that’s the way it is.

Translation: “I was bearish through the entire rally and lost money, then I flipped bullish when it was at a local top and got wrecked so it’s all rigged”.
Crypto is so rigged I swear 😂

Hesitation kills careers. I’ve been looking back over my chat logs for the past couple of years and reaching out to people who applied for our mentorship back in 2023 to see how they’re getting on… Almost every one who never followed through… still pretty much in the exact same spot. Maybe passed a single funded account, taken a payout or two. In the same time period, we’ve had students make $400k in payouts, multiple students hit top 10 on FTMOs leaderboard and countless go full time. I have been where you are, I have walked the path you desire to walk and achieved the things you desire to achieve. Trust me when I tell you I can get you there, and get you there exponentially quicker than you can on your own. Stop wasting your life hoping something will change, it won’t.

The best women are God fearing and submit to their husband’s headship because they know their husband is submitted to Christ’s headship. This is the key to finding a good woman, first surrender to Christ.

Most of these women don’t qualify to be a good wife. I’m jealous of your success.😂

Another victim of the “manosphere”. These guys will grow old alone and one day die in a hospital bed with no family by their side. They will have been robbed of life’s greatest blessing, simply because they thought a woman would steal all the money they don’t even have.

We got married at 22, by 23 Niamh was pregnant. We’re now 3 weeks away from welcoming baby number 2. At the time everyone around us was single, casual relationships etc and to be honest they all thought we were very young to be “settling down”. Now we’re 27, many we know spent their early 20s having fun, women focused on university and careers and now are nearly 30 with no serious relationship, no prospect of having a family etc. In a few years, it might be too late. It seemed like we were too young in reality we just didn’t let the opportunity pass us by. Having a family is the most meaningful and important project of your life, don’t treat it as secondary to anything.

Today I had a student tell me he's thinking about giving up. He's 11 months in and +14% on his swing approach. He's breakeven on his short term approach that he's been trading for 1 month. I am honestly blown away by how out of whack most people are with reality. I spent my first 3 years losing money, blowing accounts and failing to execute anything consistently. I'd have sold my granny for double digit % P&L and two profitable strategies under my belt that I knew how to trade consistently. It just goes to show how much social media has ruined traders expectations.

Ben Cowen in one breath is comparing this to last post-halving year as his base case, 10 minutes later he's comparing it to 2019 because of social risk indicators. Scatter gun, something will stick.
