Well I have been thinking a lot lately about what makes me happy. I have always thought about it since I was very young. This will be a thread where I will try to maintain a log of things which I like to do which helps me feel happy. 1/n

When a government allows violence against peaceful protesters, what does it say about the people in power?

This is not true. No such call has been given from any of our official handles or by Abhijeet Dipke for today. We would request media to not spread any misinformation. Thank you.

Dipke was responding to a question by India Today Digital, which visited the protest sites in and around Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to speak to protesters and police after a day of street confrontations. The protesters had returned to Jantar Mantar and erected a tent and makeshift stage after the earlier podium was reportedly removed by Delhi Police personnel earlier on Monday. भाषण मत दो, इस्तीफ़ा दो।
LoP Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia continue to shamelessly exploit students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia chose to stage a dharna outside the Hon'ble Prime Minister's residence , causing inconvenience to the public and disregarding established security protocols. Even after Government conveyed its readiness for a comprehensive discussion, the Congress chose political spectacle over democratic debate. Their objective was never solutions for students, it was disruption for political headlines For Rahul Gandhi, this is not about students. This is about manufacturing confrontation after every genuine avenue for discussion has been opened. Our Government remains 100% committed to discussing NEET and addressing every genuine concern of our youth on the floor of the House. The students of India deserve far better than being treated as props in a political campaign. They deserve certainty over chaos, solutions over slogans and responsibility over disruption. We owe our students more than outrage. We owe them answers, reforms and accountability. That is exactly what our government remains committed to delivering.

Sandeep Lamba. Remember the name. Remember what he did. Never Forgive.
This police officer led the crackdown on unarmed young volunteers and peaceful protesters. Many people were injured, with several reportedly sustaining serious head injuries, while many others were beaten. The microphone from which Abhijeet was appealing for a peaceful march was broken. The front windshield of the van I was sitting in was also shattered and glass pierced in my hand (luckily I was rescued by a volunteer right before one of them could hit me). They hit others on van brutally. The van was occupied majorly by women volunteers, including Geetanjali ma'am. What happened today appeared to be aimed at disrupting a peaceful protest and forcing people to leave the site. Shame on you Delhi Police. You are worst than criminals. Entire Jantar Mantar & nearby area has lakhs of people watching your brutality.

Meet the bravest officer, Shri Sandeep Lamba. He showed great courage against a woman protester. In order to maintain peace and law and order, he did not even think twice before slapping a woman. WOWOWOW.

Delhi Police have sunk to new lows. Yesterday, during a peaceful march, a male officer was caught on camera brutally assaulting a female protestor, hitting her and shoving a lathi into her lower back. This is criminal, unconstitutional behaviour by a force meant to protect citizens. We demand that Delhi Police sack the officer immediately. The people of India are watching. #DelhiPoliceBrutality

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS. 🇮🇳 SALUTE TO THIS MEDIA PERSON WHO PICKED UP INDIA'S PRIDE, THE NATIONAL FLAG (TIRANGA), FROM THE GROUND. A POLICE OFFICER ALLEGEDLY WIPED HIS FACE WITH THE TIRANGA AND THEN THREW IT ON THE ROAD. IF THIS INCIDENT IS VERIFIED, THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE UNDER THE LAW. PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH DELHI POLICE SO THAT APPROPRIATE ACTION CAN BE TAKEN IF THE ALLEGATIONS ARE FOUND TO BE TRUE.
