2023 has been a rollercoaster. You know, the kind that takes you to the top & gets stuck, leaving you hanging upside down, questioning your life choices until emergency services get there to rescue you. That kind of a rollercoaster.
Sooooo why do I still love rollercoasters?

What makes entrepreneurship hard isn’t the work, it’s not knowing whether it’ll work.
We’re afraid of wasted work.
But if it makes you better, no work is wasted.

We create safe spaces for performers to own the stage and own their stories.
Re-Present Studios is here to make room for underrepresented and marginalized voices to tell their own stories.
If that's you, go to representstudios.com to explore the ways that we can serve you

At Re-Present Studios, we champion the notion of the 'CEO Artist'. It's not just about honing your craft, but mastering the business side of the arts.
The biggest freedom in your life is on the other side of your biggest struggle- which is not just shadow boxing - that’s only 1 aspect. The other part is taking action over & over & working through imposed limitations, forcing yourself out of your comfort zone & into growth.

Build evidence.

Presence in acting isn't a skill you acquire; it's a power within you waiting to be awakened. In our upcoming workshop, starting September, we delve deep into what it means to be fully present, transforming performances into experiences that connect, inspire, and resonate.
A performer’s impact is wholly predicated on their ability to be connected and present with their scene partner/partners.
I spent years trying to learn what this meant & in the end, I realized it wasn’t something I had to learn.
If you’re an artist & struggling to reconcile between your art & your ‘day job’, my challenge to you is to stop treating them as two separate entities & instead look at them like a ecosystem. That way, you create a cohesive infrastructure & can assess what works…
…where there are bottle necks & highlight opportunities for yourself to begin to problem solve & see what you can do in one area, in order to achieve your goals in another area. It’s a small distinction, but it makes all the difference!

These words by Angela Davis echo as we stand in solidarity with #SAGAFTRA & #WGA. This fight isn't just for better conditions-it's for overdue respect & recognition. As fellow artists, we stand as allies. Together, we are stronger. 🎭✍️✊ #StandForJustice
A few weeks ago, I went and saw ‘Hamilton’ live here in Toronto after years (literally years) of being willing to WAIT FOR IT, I’m delighted to announce that I left feeling SATISFIED and delighted that I got MY SHOT to finally see this spectacular production in person.
(Musical theatre kids who understand how NON-STOP nerdy this caption is…sorry not sorry).
