Haters are claiming this demo will never have practical application. They're missing the important role of a leader to inspire his team + world. Demos + events like this combined with a great product is why no one can compete with Tesla.
Turns out the future does have flying cars

Quantum will be multi-trillion in the ***next few years***?? Love Zohran but who is advising him on these investments :)
Quantum is poised to become a multi-trillion dollar industry in the next few years. We think New Yorkers should share in that profit. That's why we negotiated that New Yorkers get board seats and a 15% stake of intellectual property that comes out of NYU's Quantum Fabrication facility. Because all New Yorkers should benefit from the economic success of this city.

Awesome progress! Can confirm Gemini 4 Argon is big leap in coding - great to see this being validated by the industry's best coding benchmark. Give it try in Cursor!
Gemini 4 Argon is now available in Cursor! It scores 52.8% on CursorBench at default effort, on par with Opus 5.5. Priced at $2/M input and $10/M output tokens.

Sad moment. Character AI was one of the leading AI startups that pioneered a lot of interactions (including big wins with efficient inference).
Character AI has gone bankrupt. The AI startup announced its Chapter 11 filing through a late-night newswire press release

I think the smarter play for Starlink Mobile would be to enable mobile phone companies to go directly to consumer. Be the network for Google Fi, Apple Wireless, Samsung, etc... to provide cell service directly to their users.
We announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum license portfolio that will pave the way for @Starlink to become a major mobile carrier in the US. With this new spectrum and our Gen2 constellation, Starlink Mobile can ensure Americans have access to high-speed mobile broadband no matter where they are → spacex.com/updates#starlink-…

The inference market is more profitable than the training market. Owning computer > renting compute.
Important note regarding Grok @Bot: Going forward, @SpaceX will use the best back end model for any given task, including Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney, Suno and other leading APIs. Whatever is most likely to give you the best outcome.

Two of the most innovative companies in the world coming together for a launch 🚀 🛰️
I remember the first meeting where the team pitched the idea of putting compute in space - exciting idea! Today's successful launch with our partner @planet prototype satellite shows how far we've come...and how far there is to go. Thanks for the lift, @SpaceX, another spectacular booster landing too🚀

Back at the Frontier! It's been amazing to use this internally, I was able to make the largest code changes of my PM career thanks to Argon - bringing ideas to life in days that were estimated to take weeks. Can't wait to see industry feedback.
Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback. Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

Wow, huge for @SCSatCMU. I remember Citidel was considered the most challenging interview to pass (harder than Google) - only a couple kids from each class got offers. Will be interesting to see how a campus in Miami turns out - def way different vibe than Pittsburgh :)
Today, Carnegie Mellon University and Ken Griffin, founder and CEO of Citadel and founder of Griffin Catalyst, announced a historic $3 billion gift to elevate Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and launch Carnegie Mellon University Miami. #CMUMiami Learn more: cmu.edu/news/stories/archive…

"We were promised flying cars...." Science fiction is becoming reality. This looks like it was from an episode of For All Mankind.

One of my life goals is to see a live launch with my kids. My sense is photos don't do it justice.

Elon should consider making @spacexai the true Open AI that he envisioned - building off the recipe that Cursor perfected. Take leading open source & leverage compute + data to post train them to the frontier in key domains. Offer businesses the same tooling/compute to do the same & own the $100b+ inference market for the open source AI ecosystem. There's no American lab doing this at scale, Composer 2 showed the potential - imagine what a Composer 3 could do with massive post train on the latest gen open source models just in coding. Much more differentiated strategy than the current Grok approach.

Pretty impressive that Grok Bot is on the same order of magnitude of active users as Muse without any growth hacks, trade craft or funnel of Meta. It's also standalone - we have yet to see what X, Grok & Cursor could do together.
News: SpaceXAI's Grok Bot hits 418,000 weekly users ending Sept. 14, WoW growth of 24% through that date. It was outlined in a presentation by SpaceXAI staff last week in London. A sign of modest but early demand for a key product bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Grok 4.7 may be a good example of the increasing challenge in benchmarking models outside of their 1P harness. There will always be a huge market for raw API access, but if the primary use case is going to go through the 1P harness why not benchmark/eval using that? The right way to measure coding for example probably through Antigravity, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc… & evaluating their e2e output + cost.

Optimism is one of most important & motivating forces in the world. We could use more of that in the AI discourse right now. AI will have a more positive impact on humanity than any technology before it - government + industry should work together to amplify a positive message.

I don’t get anyone who buys anything other than a Tesla today if their budget is $35K+ I had to rent a car recently & got a Volvo assuming it would be the best among legacy auto. Their software experience + autopilot equivalent in their 2026 model is worse than a 2018 Model 3.
I just bought a new Model Y and can confidently say cars and Teslas are no longer the same product. A car is like a pony or horse. I still like driving a stick shift, it’s fun! Tesla with FSD is a transportation robot. I had one of the first Model 3s in 2017. FSD was basically slightly better cruise control. Great on the highway. But honestly felt oversold. So I have been driving a BMW for the past 3 years. Great horse, fun to drive. But tried FSD recently and holy shit — it’s a personal Waymo. Works perfectly. I just went to the Fremont factory to get my new car, entered my address 30+ mins away, pushed a button, and got home without doing a thing. I don’t think most people realize how good this is, probably because they only experienced an early version previously. This is 1000x better. Metaphor for AI writ large. Like trying GPT 3.5 and thinking it’s cute and hallucinates, and dismissing it…while Astra launches in 2026 and is orders of magnitude more capable.

So...is Jensen still going to do this after Dario doubled down again to ban Nvidia from selling chips to China?

25 years ago, terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people, including 2,753 New Yorkers. As we remember that terrible day, let us also remember the first responders, office workers and strangers who ran toward danger to help each other. Let us remember the extraordinary compassion, resilience and bravery that carried our city through its darkest day. Today, New York remembers. We will Never Forget.
