Today (10/24/26) is Pythagorean Theorem Day.
The month, day, and last two digits of the year are a Pythagorean triple and satisfy the Pythagorean theorem equation (a² + b² = c²).
10² + 24² = 26²
This is the final Pythagorean Theorem Day of the 21st century.

Yes, you can even play Breakout on the iPod on the Apple Music 404 webpage.
Settings > About > Hold the centre button until the game appears
Breakout was an easter egg on the original iPod in 2001. I remember playing it! The easter egg is even sweeter because Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs developed the game in the 70s.
The 1976 Atari game was first prototyped and programmed by @stevewoz and assisted by Jobs.

Live action costume designer Dominique Dawson was the perfect fit for #GOATmovie, adding style and authenticity to our animated characters.

So I got this flyer in the mail & couldn’t help but notice parts of the city missing from the map (namely by the 134).
Why do I have to scan a QR code to see how apartments are represented?
(Though I am glad it’s somewhere burbankca.gov/election-measu…)

Guess who just got confirmation that I’ve worked enough editing hours in my floater position to keep my health insurance another 6 months!

one thing I've learned studying to be an architect is American ADA regulations are actually incredibly strong compared to the rest of the world meanwhile Europe for the most part tells the disabled to go fuck themselves and i wish people talked about it more
scare an american
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This map incorrectly excludes Israel, Taiwan, Norway and Denmark, all of which had universal healthcare in 2021. It also marks Ghana and Pakistan as universally covered despite significant gaps: Ghana's national insurance enrolled only 54% of its population that year.

I don’t recall plastic sheeting being on these government lists before. But a good reminder for everything!
Also you never have enough water! I’d add paper plates & disposable utensils to cut down on dishes using water.
🎃 Your emergency kit called… 👻 and it’s time for a little restock! 🧰 Don’t stress about getting everything at once. Check the list below, see what you already have at home, and add what’s missing little by little. ✨ Get more tips at Ready.gov/kit.
I don’t know the ins or outs. And maybe they never wanted to be in space again. Maybe the stress & being away from the family for training & quarantine & everything was too much.
But NASA had some celebrities. They brought eyes & that hasn’t happened for decades! Why leave??
ATTENTION CALIFORNIA (or those close enough to CA to get alerts) MOOTS:
Your phone will go off around 10:15am tomorrow for an earthquake drill.
Be prepared not scared. Take a minute tomorrow to think what you would do & how prepared you’d be if a big quake hit (water power etc)

Electrical, plasma, jellyfish in the sky!
The most incredible image of a Sprite I’ve ever seen.
Sprites are essentially lighting that is ABOVE a thunderstorm.
Not so much rare, just VERY hard to capture or see.
They live for only a couple milliseconds.

Probably going to be completely overlooked by the media but today is the 200th birthday of photography as a medium and that’s pretty cool

A lot of hysteria over the Skydance byline. I hate the idea of WB being downscaled to a “brand,” but only time will tell what comes from the big scary merger.
WB has been owned by various BigCorp since 1967 and has had a dozen bylines you probably never even noticed.
The Warner Bros. water tower has already been repainted to add “A Skydance Corporation” on the same day the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger closes.
