Very proud of all of our staff team who took on either the Basingstoke Half Marathon or 10k today. Some of these runners only completed couch to 5k last November! Special mention to the first Vyne member home from the Half Marathon, Mr Gibson, with a fantastic time of 1:52 👏

More support for the retrieval effort hypothesis: students learning skeletal charts were tested with consonant, vowel, or no clues. Students preferred, but learned less with consonant clues: bit.ly/3YbYQnM

Rummaging in a cupboard, we found the most brilliant set of LED ‘laser’ pointers with detachable slit caps. Magnetic, so stick to the board, too! Look how well they show colour mixing….!

I have now made 26 Science root word cards, which can be downloaded here: fabiodisalvo.com/2022/05/22/… If you use these in your lessons, I would love to know how your students find them. More cards to come as I think of more words :)

A reminder for teachers of just how much the work they do matters. What a lovely moment to take the profession into the run-up to Christmas in one of its hardest ever terms.
