Why I’m voting for Tracey Breazeale for state rep of district 45a, and Cedrick Frazier for Hennepin County Attorney.

story of a man with a traumatic brain injury leaving him with the “mind capacity of a 6, 7 year old” going missing from a community bridges facility in arizona last summer and his family not getting any answers from them. he was found safe
this is who the city of minneapolis chose for mobile crisis response
here are some horrifying reviews of community bridges’ rehab in arizona. definitely seems like the type of carceral addiction facility you’d get with a board of majority law enforcement!
and this is the organization the city of minneapolis chose to replace canopy roots for BCR?
if the BCR program was created in 2021 to move away from police responding to non emergency mental health crises, why would the city select community bridges whose board has 4 cops, the heaviest profession represented? 3 firefighters. 2 city staff / electeds
1 addiction specialist. 1 psychotherapist
4 COPS
this is just one reason reaching across the aisle to campaign with republicans like anders folk is doing is so short-sighted
rep andrew myers cast the deciding vote against annunciation families' gun control legislation in the minnesota legislature last year. DFL voters need to know who can they can trust on this important issue and who is in line with their values
One year ago, two young lives were taken and dozens more were injured in the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church, a place that should feel safe for every visitor. As a father of four young children, I cannot imagine the grief that the families experienced and carry every day.
Today, Minnesotans mourn Fletcher Merkel and Harper Moyski, hold close the entire Annunciation community, and resolve to ensure that pain is met with meaningful change.

You sided with the Trump administration’s scare tactics over DEI, lost a loyal Black customer base as well as Black voices that were formerly in the room. That’s HOW it happened and why we will continue to boycott you until you put some REAL CHANGE in motion.
An apology from us: We pulled an offensive Halloween costume that should never have been part of our assortment. It is no longer for sale. As a company, we got this wrong, and we are deeply sorry. We know this is especially hurtful for our Black guests, team members and partners. Removing the costume is an important first step, and the company is looking closely at how this happened and what needs to change to ensure this won’t happen again.

Minneapolis resident Davis Moturi and other neighbors begged for MPD protection for years, they refused and Davis was shot and almost killed.
Jake Lange received protection from dozens of MPD officers without asking
Jake Lang arrived at Minneapolis City Hall today with private security in separate vehicles driving through a group of protesters on the sidewalk.
Bizarre scenes of their private security seemingly directing MPD & pushing them out of the way.

These days I can’t even get friends to listen to album recs. No idea how any band formed this decade manages to ever play to anything but empty rooms.
minnesota senator tina smith on the negative ads attacking peggy flanagan by pro angie craig groups:
“those big corporate interests - crypto and AIPAC, the big outside money interests - don’t want peggy to win. they don’t want her fighting against them in washington DC. so i say in minnesota, people have more power than money.”

Having a minimum number of officers in the city charter is dumb because it creates an assumption among dummies and far right legal activists that you can enforce that kind of thing with a lawsuit.

Dawanna Witt knows damn well that equipment violation stops are not her deputies right to use and then abuse people with. And certainly not if they are “undercover” because that is unlicensed vigilantism.
Witt needs to turn that body camera footage over.
dawanna witt's hennepin county sheriff deputies being out of control was just one reason cited by delegates as to why they voted to deny her the DFL endorsement at the convention, just like what the reformer covers here -

I ask a couple easy questions and they get all persnickety.
They don’t deserve horses.
Replying to @MNFOP
Why are MPD’s horses boarded in Wright County? And why are Minneapolis taxpayers expected to fund their costly boarding and care?
Nothing weird about Frey having the city pay Darcy Luoma’s new consulting company $1.4M. Her former husband was only convicted on federal child pornography and sexual assault charges in 2016.
Who is actually providing the positive, productive dialog? City council doing it freely.
Respecting tribal sovereignty is not optional, it is the law.
That includes the sacred Dakota land of Minnehaha Falls and Park in Minneapolis.
DHS should not be allowed to steamroll a second border wall through lands that are sacred to the Tohono O’odham Nation.
Respecting tribal sovereignty is not optional — it is the law.
