Claude Fable 5.1 / Mythos 5.1 がリリース🚀
1. 長くて複雑な仕事を一人でやり遂げる力
何時間・何日もかかる作業（自律的なコーディング、調査、実験など）を、途中で品質を落とさずに続けられるように。
2. 科学研究での実力が大きく向上
- Terminal-Bench-Science 0.1：52.6%（Fable 5の24.7%から2倍以上）
- タンパク質設計で、競合より10倍高い親和性のバインダーを設計した例
- NASAのレーダーデータを使って金星の高解像度標高マップを作成（既存より25%精度向上）
- 計算生物学のオープンソースモデルを最大2.5倍高速化
3. コーディング性能も向上
- Terminal-Bench 4.0：55.8%（Fable 5は42.0%）
- 1/100万の確率で起きる珍しいクラッシュの原因を、外部ライブラリを解析して特定した例など
4. コストの低下
- 入力・出力の単価は据え置き（入力$10 / 出力$50 per million tokens）で、キャッシュ読み取りが75%安くなった。
- 通常の使い方で約25%、エージェント的な使い方では最大45%コスト削減になるとのこと。
5. 使いやすさの改善
- サイバー関連の無害な質問を誤って拒否する率が約60%減少
- 基礎的な生物・医学の質問で拒否する率が約85%減少
企業向けの新しい機能
6. Enterprise Frontier Safeguards（EFS）という仕組みも発表:
データをAnthropic側に残さず、顧客自身が管理するクラウド上で処理できるようにする「ゼロデータ保持」相当のプライバシー機能。2026年秋から段階的に提供予定。

Fable 5.1 is now live in Claude Code and the Claude Platform.
It's priced the same as Fable 5, with 75% cheaper API cache reads. It gets a lot further into a long task before it needs your input, is better at telling you when it's stuck, and its writing style is more natural.

Tomorrow we will bring back the 5h limit for Plus accounts across ChatGPT Work and Codex. I had mentioned this a while ago, but then postponed it.
This is necessary as (a) the 5h limit allows us to smoothen the load on our compute, allowing to keep the plan generous in terms of weekly usage and (b) users on the Plus plan are relatively casual and new users, but then also just accidentally eat through their whole weeks usage and then are confused, making it not a great experience.
We are for the upcoming months keeping the 5h limit not enabled for Pro $100 and Pro $200 subscriptions.

Starting August 14, auto mode will be the default permission mode in Claude Code for Pro, Max, and Team users.
Auto mode reviews shell commands and actions with a separate classifier. In testing, it caught 89% of dangerous commands. Manual approval caught 14%.

- Fable 5.1 is in preparation, with a target launch in August.
- Pricing is to be remain the same as Fable 5.
- If the current timeline holds, it could launch ahead of GPT-6 to compete directly with it.

Beginning July 20, Claude Fable 5 will be included in all Max and Team Premium plans, at 50% of limits.
Pro and Team Standard users will continue to have access to Fable via usage credits, and will receive a one-time $100 credit.
Demand for Fable has been challenging to predict, which is why we rolled it out to subscription plans in stages, extending access several times as we secured additional capacity.

Opus 5 Leaks
- Opus 5 is targeting a launch by the end of this month.
- A "Honeycomb EAP" model appeared in Cursor for some users before disappearing, and it could be an early Opus 5 preview.
- Honeycomb EAP has a 1M context window, making - Opus 5 most likely (Haiku is expected to have 300K context).
- Hopefully, Opus 5 reaches Fable/Mythos-level capabilities.

Since June 12, we’ve been working closely with the US government to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 and Fable 5. Today, the government notified us that Mythos 5, our strongest cybersecurity model, can be redeployed to a set of US organizations that operate and defend critical infrastructure.
We’re restoring access for these organizations quickly, and we’re continuing to work with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 available for general use again.
