Day one of practice never gets old. I began my coaching career in 1999. As I enter my 27th year in coaching, my 21st as a college head coach, and my 18th @SCMensBall , I’m just as excited about the first day of practice as ever. I still love the challenge of looking at a group of individuals and finding a way to mold them into a team. I love watching young men improve, come together, and discover what they are capable of accomplishing. I’m incredibly honored and thankful for the opportunity to influence young people while doing something I love at a place that has given so much to me and my family. @buildersports is a special place, and I never take for granted the privilege of coaching our guys and representing this community. We hear a lot about “kids today,” but my experience is that young people still crave discipline and consistency. They want to be challenged, coached, and held accountable—but they also expect their leaders to be accountable. I appreciate that. It keeps me motivated, prepared, and humble. It reminds me that I must continue growing and bring my best every day because our students deserve nothing less. Year 27. Day one. Still grateful. Still learning. Still loving the opportunity. Go Builders!
