Imo dead internet theory should be embraced & pursued, not rejected
Dead internet theory is like the bot financialization of content
Just like how humans influence the broad direction of financial markets, but it's the bots providing rich liquidity around the current price,
Humans influence the broad direction of content meta, but it'll be the bots that provide a rich pool of similar content around the current meta
Of course there are tradeoffs and bads, but imo more long term net good than bad
Content bots will be the new HFT scalpers
As much as I like USDC, the adoption risk for USDC was never from competition with USDT - their market focus is different imo
USDC's competitors are stablecoins from big banks
Some already had an internal running stablecoin POC for years - they're just very cautious on announcing
I do think USDT is in a good position with their firm adoption in emerging markets & new initiatives like @PlasmaFDN
Obviously not financial adivce
While I do agree that LOBs are much more efficient than AMMs for trading, I think there is a lingering big usecase for them:
The ability to encode liquidity as a fundamental characteristic of an asset minted via an AMM
This alone adds a whole new dimension to the existing asset's featureset
A bit like how some issuers do for their closed-off assets (as once the asset leaves their part, the liquidity-as-a-feature dilutes away)
While as for onchain, the liquidity feature persists as it's globally enforced with a smart contract
Think new special types of derivatives for example
Looking back, I should have learnt Rust more properly while I had the chance dealing with CosmWasm
Rust is the future 🦀
With the progress in ZKPs, isn't it now (relatively) easy for exchanges like @binance @cz_binance to start offering pooled deposit addresses?
A single deposit address for all users of a token, user-linked with ZKPs (with added compliance).
Less onchain snooping, more privacy.
Recent observation is that:
- infra devs are overly optimistic about apps
- app devs are too cynical about recent infra
Ask "how would ZK bring end-user value" to each of them, and you'll get highly conflicting answers.
(Don't get me wrong, I think ZK is the wei)
I can't believe it's already 2025 and there still isn't a working crypto-web TLD with Google Workspaces and Cloudflare integrated
Can the builders build something
The thesis is not just to build an another place to trade.
It is not about improving existing markets, but about creating new viewpoints outside of existing frameworks.
Imo one (vastly simplified) dimension of looking at asset valuations is a constant battle of collusion and competition.
Where market participants constantly:
- collude (agree on the same market direction) to squeeze out the countering longs/shorts
- compete to get better prices during collusion and squeezes
One has an efficient venue to coordinate, the other currently does not.
Orderbooks are venues specialized for coordinating competition and are highly efficient in doing so.
However, there is no specialized venue to coordinate collusion - this is where @Exponents_Fi's lobby (incentive/bribe) market will target.
+ P.S. no leverage nor incentives are free of risk, including those of Exponents; everything's a trade of immediate value vs. time.
China routes capital to gold, a SoV the government can control (as per physical transfer limitations).
The US supports crypto to nullify China's gold purchases.
A bifurcation of SoV ideology as the world diverges again.
Open SoV vs. closed SoV.
Place your bets accordingly.
Imo staking vs. non-staking yield is like economic leftism vs. rightism:
staking-yield-based growth -> communist chains (?)
dApp-yield-based growth -> capitalist chains (?)
where:
- staking yield -> yield from public (government) investments, e.g. treasuries
- non-staking yield -> yield from private investments, e.g. corporate-based yield
also can be co-linked with the effects of fed rates on the economy
(this is not a political post or a post on which is right or wrong)
staking has got to be the least interesting token use case
I used to think high staking rate good: wow yield, come to chain, stake, maybe end up finding something else to do
i don't think it works like that though.
now i think low staking rate good: wow no yield to stake? i must go do something else with my tokens in the economy here
good examples of this can be seen. the former: typical cosmos chains (but not all!), the latter: sui

Congrats to the @berachain team. The hard work is finally paying off.
All eyes on the motherchain today.
We will be publishing updates regarding Exponents launch shortly
.@richardchen39 is a legend who I've been a great fan of since the early days of my crypto journey.
If you're building in crypto but haven't talked to him yet, I strongly recommend that you should.
I am excited to announce @VarrockVC, an oversubscribed $30M fund investing $600-900k in pre-seed and seed crypto founders!
We are fortunate to be backed by large institutions and family offices who are committed to being long-term partners.

1) Been away from Twitter / X for a while
2) Timeline now telling me DPRK is the new frontline for crypto BD (?)
3) IDK what you guys want but on it
Just made it through sepsis from an infection I probably caught from devcon week LFG
Apologies to all for the past few days' comms delays
Back to building and upwards and onwards
