Soooo... If anyone is going to DEF CON this year, I am thrilled to announce that I will be giving a talk on SH4ZAM, my hand-optimized, fast math library targeting the Sega Dreamcast's SH4 CPU!
Here's an early sneak-peak at some of what you can expect to see, including hardware captures of epic Sega Dreamcast ports, copious amounts of C, C++, and SH4 assembly... and of course: THE GAINZ!
The talk has been graciously organized and will be hosted by @GameHackingGG, on Sunday at 12:30!
Really looking forward to getting to meet and hang out with some of you guys, if you can make it! Never even been to Vegas! 🤣

In 2006, two academics, John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, wrote a paper called “The Israel Lobby,” which argued that a loose group of Israel supporters used their connections and financial resources to tilt US foreign policy in Israel’s direction.
One of them, Stephen Walt, was academic dean of The Harvard Kennedy School, which put him at the pinnacle of his profession.
The savage response to the paper was like nothing academia had ever seen. We can now report that Jeffrey Epstein helped coordinate the counterattack with Alan Dershowitz, while Larry Summers was Harvard president. And Les Wexner was one of the largest donors to the Kennedy School, if not the largest. Epstein controlled Wexner’s money.
In other words, a loose group of powerful supporters of Israel used their financial resources and connections behind the scenes to destroy the reputations of two academics who wrote a paper arguing that a loose group of Israel supporters was using their connections and financial resources to shape American foreign policy. A U.S. colonel was at the scene of Shireen Abu Akleh’s murder within hours and was able to conclude quickly the shooting had obviously been intentional. His boss then covered it up so as not to “displease” the Israelis, the Times reports.
A US colonel who investigated Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh’s 2022 killing by an Israeli soldier concluded it was intentional but his boss undermined that conclusion for political reasons. nytimes.com/2025/10/27/world…

For years I’ve heard people who don’t live here tell about Chicago being a war zone. This is the only time, in 19 years of living here, that my neighborhood has even remotely looked like one.
I can’t believe this is real life.

Trying to deport a permanent resident on political grounds is shocking.
Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent Palestinian activist at Columbia, was arrested last night by ICE agents, who claimed they were acting on a State Department order to revoke his green card, his attorney told the AP.

Some people might read this as "it's Japan so Street Fighter is common and totally a thing everyone knows about".
The other bit is that Japan bar culture contributes a lot to this kind of experience whereas the US has become very silo'd over the years where bar groups don't mix.
Racing with a team in a national level rally event this year is the culmination of years of work and the finalizing of a childhood dream of mine.
I'm weirdly more stoked about this than any professional achievement to date.

Hey European Entrepreneurs! You have one more day to leave feedback on the Single Market Strategy for 2025.
Please take a few minutes and leave some. Don't let the incumbents like notaries dominate this. We need a truly single market for innovation to take place here and not abroad. We need to create a place for founders to thrive. Is this proposal perfect? It's not, far from it, but it's probably the best shot we have right now.
And while you're at it, follow @euacchq and @andreasklinger. They do a better job than I could ever do about what this is all about.

Kazuhiro Ikeda / 池田和弘, better known as Bow, an illustrator who specialized in sports cars, passed away on November 17 at the age of 78.
He was responsible for the cover illustrations for Sega Rally 2. More of his work can be found here: bybow.jp
I got in touch with his assistant a while ago, as he was open to drawing the Over Jump Rally covers, one with the Delta and one with the Celica, in the same style and angle as the Stratos.

New from 404 Media: we've confirmed that Apple quietly introduced code that automatically reboots an iPhone if it hasn't been unlocked after a period of time. This is why cops are being mysteriously locked out of iPhones they're trying to search. 404media.co/apple-quietly-in…
