This is so incredibly sweet. Stephanie is a real life angel 😇
I've received many endorsements during this campaign, and they mean a lot to me.
This one from my beautiful, brilliant, and funny wife, Stephanie, means especially much to me.
We met twenty-two years ago, and everything has been an adventure ever since.
This campaign has also been a fun, exciting adventure we've travelled together. I'm so deeply grateful for her support over the last several months. – at New Songhees 1A, British Columbia

On World Mental Health Day, we want every Veteran, military member, and family member to know: you are never alone.
Invisible wounds are just as real as physical ones, and seeking support is a sign of strength. If you or someone you know needs support, reach out to resources like a Command Service Officer or your local Legion branch. Find a Service Officer in your area by visiting: legion.ca/support-for-vetera…
Let's look out for one another.

This might be the weirdest damn excuse I have ever heard from a municipal politician about why they can't attend a council meeting.

On the anniversary of the October 7th attacks, B.C.’s major political parties are showing cross-party consensus on combating antisemitism and community safety.

Standing on principle matters when you're in office.
I knew I would be drinking from a firehose when I was elected to the Greater Victoria School Board, so I committed to listening, learning, and talking as little as possible.
You know how the old saying goes: When man plans, God laughs.
Within months of my election, our new catchment boundaries were put up for consideration. Included was Victor School, Victoria's ONLY school for our most medically vulnerable students.
Parents were understandably upset because they hadn't been consulted. I went to Victor to meet with parents, teachers, and the EA, and to see how the students were being supported. The school was a marvel of how a progressive school should operate.
I knew then, as I know now, that this was wrong, and I immediately signalled my desire to remove Victor from consideration. The Board agreed, and on only the third or fourth meeting, they saved Victor.
I stuck my neck out, and I know I made some people mad, but when something strikes at your heart, and you know it's wrong, you have to act. This was common sense to me, and I'm glad we did it.
I'm proud that Lisa, a View Royal resident and parent of a Victoria School student, felt that I was an ally and showed up to listen. I'm honoured to have her endorsement for Mayor of View Royal. – at Victoria, British Columbia
Where do I stand on addressing affordability in View Royal?
I would hold the line on spending where we can and limit the Town's capital carryovers year over year. I'd also vote against pay raises for Mayor and Council.
I'd open the Western Gateway Employment District Corridor to jobs and businesses so we can offset residential property taxes.
And I'd ensure traffic moves so we can save people costs on fuel and time spent away from their families.
With gas and groceries taking a lot out of people's pockets, we need to do our part to reduce the burden View Royal residents carry. – at View Royal, British Columbia

Three years ago, the terrorist organisation Hamas perpetrated the worst attack against Jewish people since the Holocaust.

We've been publishing @TheHubCanada for more than 5 years now.
This essay by Raquel Look about her son, Alex, who was killed on October 7 because he was a Jew, is one of the most poignant that we've published.
We're grateful to Raquel for trusting us to help tell Alex's story.

Grant Woods has been the ‘secret weapon’ of BC’s Conservatives for years now.
Brilliant director, content artist, and strategist who brings real, compelling artistic vision to his work.
Any political parties, advocacy groups, or businesses looking for an edge should hire Grant.

If you have seen countless images of horrific violence in Gaza but have never really seen what Hamas did on October 7th, you have a moral obligation to bear witness to the truth.

What skills will I bring to the Mayor of View Royal role?
I was asked this question during the @wschamber1 View Royal candidates' forum.
Here's my response.
David Lockyer knows what steady governance looks like.
For over 30 years, David was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Sooke School District. He helped trustees collaborate with several municipalities, MLAs, and regional, provincial, and Federal governments.
He was instrumental in a School District partnership with Langford, Colwood and the Province to build the new Belmont and Royal Bay Secondaries, which led to the creation of the Belmont Shopping Centre.
He knows what it takes to move large projects forward, build business cases for community plans, and develop consensus among diverse parties.
I am honoured that he thinks I have the personality and experience to be Mayor of View Royal.
