Seeing as congress is insanely unpopular this would be the type of hail mary proposal that could save your asses in the midterms.
Many democrats would be forced to cross party lines to back it I would think. Voting against tax relief for parents would be an awful look.
Based on my research they will be in session from 9/10-9/14 and then gone until after the midterms.

I'm so relieved Congress finally condemned socialism.
I was seriously worried we might end up with:
- tax rates up to 40%
- forced wealth transfers from working age people to retirees
- taxpayer dollars funneled straight to insurance companies and Big Pharma
- and the federal government quietly nationalizing huge chunks of strategic industries such as chipmakers like Intel
Thank goodness they drew that line in the sand before any of that scary socialist stuff could happen. 🇺🇸

The man ahead of me at a Whataburger in Texas ordered "a number two, no pickles."
I understood the form. A number, then a declaration.
I stepped up. I said, "Number seven. No mercy."
The girl at the register did not blink. She said, "Seven, no mercy," and typed something.
Someone in the kitchen yelled, "SEVEN, NO MERCY," and someone else laughed, and then a third voice, older, said, "Y'all heard the man."
It came with jalapeños I had not asked for, and a sauce I could not identify, and the bag was warm in a way I found threatening.
I ate all of it. A man does not order no mercy and then request mercy.
I have gone back nine times. I say the same thing. The kitchen says it back before I finish.

The U.S. government has to refund $166 billion in tariffs, PLUS interests.
Trump said he would be paying Americans checks from tariffs and eventually even replace the income tax.
So now not only are you not getting DOGE checks after he cancelled DOGE, you’re not getting tariff checks and paying the interests back on tariffs collected.
And you are also paying $2 billion a day for Trump and Netanyahu’s war in Iran.
And you are paying on avg $4 per gallon gas and inflation is rising again.
The lack of humility and understanding the struggle of regular Americans is astounding to me.

Everything in Washington will be purely performative, for the remainder of the year, to gaslight you to vote in the midterms.
We all knew and discussed in internal meetings back in January of 2025 that we only had 6-9 months to do anything serious and after the third quarter of 2025 our opportunity would be gone because courage would fade and campaign mode would kick in.
And all that was really accomplished was an extension of the tax law with a few additions.
No accountability for Covid.
No accountability for 4 years of lawfare.
No accountability for the 2020 election.
No accountability for Epstein files.
Not only is there nothing tangible in terms of accountability, but Republicans have done NOTHING to make health insurance affordable and hide from the issue like the pedophiles in the Epstein files.
Meanwhile we are on the verge of war with Iran from the “NO MORE FOREIGN WARS” President.
This is where you are now.
The red meat throwing tough talk and legislation that will go nowhere phase but will only create some vial media posts and headlines to try to inspire you and scare you into voting for Republicans again in the midterms.
And the Democrats are no better.
After getting brutally beaten in 2024, they learned nothing and made no serious changes to their policy platform on the issues they lost the biggest as they continue to put illegals and trans first, while suddenly (starting in 2025) caring about the Epstein files.
