"I'm a registered Republican. I've never been a registered Democrat."
A 30-year Texas educator and Southern Baptist missionary, begging Texas to take "Greg Abbott's knife away from our throats."
He's voting for Gina Hinojosa.

Texas Rep. Kay Granger was found living in an assisted living facility after missing months of votes in the House and Republicans kept it quiet. I don't want to hear their fake outrage because Talarico was off the campaign trail for nine days.

If Milwaukee and Cleveland meet in the World Series, it would be the first time in history that the World Series features two cities where the Edmund Fitzgerald once docked.
In case you were wondering.

I think we need to be realistic that class teachers are not Ed Psychs, psychologists, therapeutic experts, bouncers, social workers, the police etc. There needs to be a full recognition that their role is to teach the curriculum, not be all things to all people spread too thin.

The fugitives were charged with healthcare fraud and helped bankroll Paxton’s campaign.

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day.
And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.
The Talarico “story” might be a turning point. So many right wing conspiracy stories are fabricated and spread by trolls. And bots from Russia and North Korea spread them, hoping to tear America apart from within.
Seems Americans are seeing through the BS finally

The whole Talarico-got-stressed story was promoted by bots from the Russian troll farm. We now return you to our regularly scheduled leaked Paxton private donor speech audio.
Honestly the fact he’s never been to Ohio at all in his life should be an incredible boost to his image, everyone can respect avoiding that entire state

Imagine the MAGA reaction if James Talarico was caught with his mistress in another country on the 4th of July.

The Austin American-Statesman has endorsed Gina Hinojosa over Greg Abbott. Over the last few years Abbott has become a mini me of President Trump. He has used his pulpit to demagogue against Muslims. He spent many billions on border security with no bid contracts. He is using his position to denigrate public schools instead of building them up. He has become a puppet of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
Before this year very few Texans had heard of Gina Hinojosa. At the start of the year no one gave her a chance against Greg Abbott. She does not flinch when she is slandered by the Abbott campaign. She would be a bright light advocating for quality public schools.

The whole Republican party screaming about Talarico being out with the flu for 9 days while they're wheeling Mitch McConnell to work in a vegetable state after his 3-month absence is just incredible
If you’re a high school football coach in Texas, I can guarantee you that your life will get better if @GinaHinojosaTX, not Greg Abbott, is our governor.
You’ll have less pointless PDs, less testing, higher stipends, more support staff, and better facility maintenance.

Making teaching a low-status profession will have prolonged negative ramifications for decades to come.
When you constantly demean a profession, and politicians paint you as "indoctrinators", you push talented people out and discourage the next generation of educators.
