I don’t really want to drag the guy on Twitter but it is a bit like an economics correspondent saying they’d never heard of the gold standard or the IMF. You might trust their reporting… but you’d be pretty skeptical about their analysis, no?

'Cyber correspondent Joe Tidy says he didn't know PHP existed until yesterday morning - it's "one of these things we take for granted", he says.' Really inspires confidence in the quality of reporting - and here I was thinking I'm a luddite classicist.

Isn't Taylor Swift that guy that started Laravel or something?
Taylor Swift's silence on the PHP CVE is deafening

if this PHP vulnerability allows remote code execution, doesn't that mean we can use the vulnerability to auto-patch all vulnerable servers?

This is a made up issue. This is absolutely mental.
Trans women will finally be banned from female wards in hospitals under new NHS guidance. Hospitals have been told that wards, lavatories and changing rooms should be segregated by biological sex, not gender identity ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

From today, 1st Oct, ALL buses must have next stop audio announcements and visual display screens installed. Equipment has been installed on many older vehicles so we're looking forward to seeing and hearing it working and not just being used as a glorified calendar and clock.

This is a STREET SCAR. We could end these. This is ...
Well as predicted, Cadent have come, destroyed less than 3 year old paving and left off leaving tarmac to blight the area. Another one to add to the list

I'll take the intently bland design of gov.uk over the toyetic america.gov any day of the week, not to mention that a government website driven by AI having "AI can make mistakes" disclaimers doesn't exactly instil trust.

BBC director says they are running out of money and must make cuts, while the solution is literally staring him in the face.
“We wouldn't guarantee any programme or any channel will exist forever” BBC Director General Matt Brittin has said that the BBC's financial situation "may well mean" that some channels and radio stations will have to close. #BBCLauraK bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6gr…

Seriously how can ANYONE prefer any tower over the L2??? The L2 is the most iconic British tower. 1955-2026 and still going strong. Not only going strong, but typically working at 400 kV now with big phat wires energy maxing the nation. L2 low-key mogs every other tower 😻

When I created Raspbian for the Raspberry Pi, I was excited to help bring low-cost compute into the hands of a next generation of tinkerers and programmers. However, I now despair that a Raspberry Pi can cost upwards of $300 because AI shortages are making personal computing unaffordable. Furthermore, bright young people are being discouraged from learning programming because they are being told it is now a commodity skill that AI will do. I have to ask myself what it was all for. Is this the future we were promised? If so, I'm starting to regret my part in it.
