Hey everyone!
I'm happy to announce my #RJIFellowship project: the YESEO app - a Slack app to help newsrooms with their SEO best practices - is out today! Check it out: rjionline.org/news/introduci…
I'm so thankful to the team at @RJI & @mujschool for this opportunity! #RJIFellows

What if AI could help spot vague sourcing, emotional bias, or gaps in reporting before readers do?
🇮🇱@HashomrimOrg is working to do so as part of the #JournalismAI Innovation Challenge supported by the @GoogleNewsInit

We asked @ryanarestivo to share what he's learned about SEO-friendly headlines since @yeseoapp launched.
Can you guess the most common word to appear in AI-generated headlines?

As part of the #JournalismAI Innovation Challenge, 🇪🇸@maldita is using AI to make fact-checking more efficient, thanks to a modular system built with open-source models.

From the end of my @BlueRibbonSport preview for @MaristMBB for this year… you start with Collins-Roberts/Pascarelli/Daughtry as a solid core. I’m interested to see what other pieces come along in this rotation
This should add up to be the best Marist team since 2007. #MAAChoops
We've been selected as the preseason number two @MAACHoops team heading into the 2024-25 season!
This is the highest we've been picked in the Preseason Poll since 2007, when we were picked first and won the regular-season title.

A few thoughts I wanted to share about the @YESEOapp at the Online Journalism Awards and my time at #ONA24 - congrats BBC on the win and this nomination was a great time to reflect on the last 18 or so months since launching this thing.

Today the @YESEOapp is a finalist for the Online Journalism Award for Excellence in AI Innovation
Thank you @ByNikitaRoy for your shout out to YESEO in your presentation “A Journalist's Guide to Ethical Generative
Al Use”
Was not ready for the direct call out by you though at @ONAConf #ONA24 🙃
The new @YESEOapp images look good in the Slack App Directory!
Great to show off YESEO being a finalist in the category of Excellence in AI Innovation at the Online Journalism Awards on Sept. 20. #OJA24
@SlackHQ
One of the most fun things all year I do is Blue Ribbon talking to coaches that I’ve known for a long time and get insights on what their potential season will be like.
Covering the @AmericaEast is fun and my MAAC teams.
Just wrapped up the MAAC basketball previews for blue ribbon with @pioneer_pride and @ryan_restivo ….. Quinnipiac by far the best team going into the season with four starters back.
Going to share a lot more about how the @YESEOapp is used coming up at #SRCCON in my session with @ByNikitaRoy
How should you use YESEO? @PaulGewuerz of the Small Press, Big Ideas podcast asks and @ryanarestivo talks about how to use it to be more data aware, as a check on your intuition when you think about your stories.

To be fair, I only found out when I got a text and a Slack message from two different people saying “Congrats” on Friday.
Then I found out for myself…
Did you know the YESEO app is one of 3 Finalists in the category of Excellence in AI Innovation at the 2024 Online Journalism Awards!
@ryanarestivo's @RJI fellowship project is nominated in the category. The other nominees are from the @BBC and @THECITYNY.

Still true today what @RyanARestivo said on @themediacopilot with @petepachal: AI is a tool that helps us get from point A to point B.
YESEO was made with some AI principles, but it's never been about blindly using AI, it's been about helping people.

GenAI could boost the efficiency of a majority of editorial tasks in journalism. But that means recruiting, hiring, and retaining people with a host of AI skills. So, how is the labor market in the news industry evolving post ChatGPT? Read here: generative-ai-newsroom.com/t…
Excited to learn how more newsrooms use the @YESEOapp
Especially pumped coming off a great training yesterday with the Salt Lake Tribune!
