Water security is one of the biggest challenges facing our regional farmers today.
It’s time to protect our water and support Victorian agriculture.

👉Almost half of all Vict roads are in poor or very poor condition;
👉The network is deteriorating faster than the pace of repairs;
👉Government funding is insufficient to maintain or improve our roads.
That's the findings from the Auditor-General. It's time to fix our roads!
It’s the first day of spring and how good does the Wimmera look 🤩
Really enjoying the sprayer cab views at the moment !

Yes it’s more than a minute.
I can’t compress what we do in a week into such a short timeframe!

Milgates Minute: Vic Ag Wrap-Up 🌾🌧️
A wet, wintry week across Victoria! Wimmera crops are looking fantastic, but it's pretty sodden elsewhere, so please take care out there.
It’s been a massive week of advocacy for the VFF. We hit the ground running with new team vehicles, met with Gippsland farmers and the Ag Minister on key issues like dingoes and avian influenza, and pressed Shadow Energy Minister David Davis on renewable land-use conflicts before wrapping up with a great community catch-up at Edenhope.
Have a great weekend and stay safe! 👍

Huge day yesterday.
left home super early, picked up new vehicles for the VFF team then over to Flynn for a meeting with a great bunch of local farmers.
Lots of challenges but also lots of great ideas and solutions to work through 😮💨
After a foggy week I’ve finally managed some sunshine to get the sprayer out of the shed. Kingbale oats really enjoying the start to the year, is it too much of a good thing too early 🤔?

New analysis from us shows #Victoria's data centre construction boom could require around 9 gigawatts of extra electricity, equivalent to four Loy Yang A power stations and surging water demand by 2030.
With massive investment in the pipeline, we're calling on the impacts on agriculture to be properly considered and for our industry to have a genuine seat at the table when decisions are made.

We’re aware of a confirmed case of H5 avian influenza in Western Australia and are working closely with authorities to understand more at this early stage.
All farmers and the broader community should stay alert and any sick or dead birds or animals should be reported immediately to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.
Because H5 can cross between species, every livestock sector needs to be prepared, not just poultry producers and we’d encourage producers to review their biosecurity safeguards.
