The autumn leaves crunched under my feet,. The dulcet tone of the birds chirping in the treetops filled my ears, reverberating around the forest. Rays of sunlight filtered through the verdurous canopy, casting a golden luminescence over the ground. — by my 12yo #BackToNatureAU

Once a strategy has proven successful in your own classroom it is very hard to let go of it. This is durable learning which will relentlessly and positively impact on student success.

It is easy to hear new ideas being explained and to comprehend them. The work is in the implementation. At our school we do not believe we have learnt a new teaching strategy until we have implemented it and made it part of our repertoire of skills.

Teaching is complex work. To be effective teachers need regular opportunities for self-reflection, collaboration and professional learning. Our staff place considerable emphasis on examining achievement and high impact strategies to ensure we understand where to develop practice.

Had the pleasure of workshopping with @russellleaps parents about the intricacies of phonics and why I love teaching it so much. I’m sure we’ll see even more progress from the children now that parents know how best to support them at home. #phonics #teaching #parentengagement

Anxiety in our children will trigger anxiety in us. It's how it's meant to be. It happens to mobilise us to keep them safe. But if we can be calm enough, it opens the way for them to do the same. This is why their brave and calm will often start with ours.

Great problem solving here Mrs G. We can’t blow into our recorders but we can still practice with our fingers. When faced with a barrier innovate around it.

Lovely to see our students appreciating nature and looking after local bees. With the help of Mr Sprange we returned this lost bee to one of our grevillea bushes.
