iโve been running deepseek locally (i have a highest end mac studio) for few days, & itโs absolutely on par with o1 or sonnet.
iโve been using it nonstop for coding and other tasks, & what wouldโve cost me a fortune through apiโs is now completely free.

To your point, something missing here is the capitalism. If it costs that much to make, what do you think is the number one objective for the big tech? Lower the costs. Labor accounts for around 70% of big tech costs. Thus natural logic is, how can we build tools to lower costs.
