After the fall of the Yanukovych regime, the new head of the Ministry of the Interior reformed the now-infamous Interior Troops (units which included "Berkut") into the National Guard. About a 1000 Maidan Self-Defence volunteers were recruited to form two new battalions, but practically all of the 30,000 Guardsmen were the former Interior Troopers, retained under this new system, now fighting alongside those they fought on the Maidan.
In this video, two former Self-Defence fighters recruited into the National Guard talk both about how this transition from anti-government to government forces proceeded, and what the relations between the "old" and the "new" guardsmen were like.

A rare ground-level view of the Chonhar crossing connecting occupied Crimea with mainland Ukraine, showing the extent of damage to the original bridge and the improvised Russian alternatives.
Following Ukrainian strikes on June 7 and 9, 2026, Russian forces began constructing a massive earthen causeway alongside the damaged bridge.
The footage shows vehicle using this new crossing, damaged concrete bridge supports and spans, and destroyed sections of the nearby pontoon crossing.
The original bridge remains out of full service, with traffic diverted onto this 'temporary' route.
Notice how PA don't target stuff that's relevant to the IvP situation but *do* target stuff that is highly relevant to equipping British forces for a hot war. They're Russian military saboteurs and should be dealt with accordingly

The launches are still only ramping up, but the main direction for tonight is already beginning to emerge — Moscow Oblast.
The largest number of little birds is currently over Bryansk Oblast — numerous groups are moving across the region toward Kaluga and Smolensk Oblasts, from where they could potentially continue toward Moscow Oblast.
There are relatively few over Kursk Oblast so far — only isolated groups. Several more little birds are being detected over Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts, moving toward Rostov Oblast, while some farther south are heading toward Krasnodar Krai.
Around Crimea, there are currently only a few isolated groups.
Overall, this is still just the beginning — the main wave is currently forming over Bryansk Oblast. Let’s see how large tonight’s flow gets 👀

Latvia follows Poland to acquire these systems. NATO’s Eastern Flank continues to build up their capabilities. Having such systems available in the Baltics makes them a much thornier target.
