Misguided, yet built on the shoulders of billionaire-funded “academic freedom” zealots like you, @HdxAcademy, and @jflier. You made this bed. Own up.
Great essay from @jflier -- former Harvard Med School dean and @HdxAcademy board member -- on how the Trump admin's punishment of Harvard is misguided, threatening such vast quantities of biomedical research nytimes.com/2025/04/04/opini…

You heterodoxy folks paved the way for this fascist attack on higher education by equating some folks’ discomfort with expressing their “heterodox” views in academia with real censorship. Now that we have true government censorship can you tell the difference yet?

I’m sorry. What f-ing logic is this? These decisions shouldn’t be up to judges who aren’t doctors but it should be up to state legislators (who aren’t doctors)? Just leave these decisions up to families and their doctors. That’s essentially what you’re admitting should be done.

This thread is entirely based on observation, anecdote, and maybe some articles I’ve read over the last few years but can’t cite off the top of my head, but American healthcare is breaking down. Physicians/NPs/PAs/RNs/LPNs/MAs are all feeling it. Top to bottom.

We’re all doing our best to provide the best care to patients, to be thoughtful about our recommendations, to empower our patients to decide what’s best for themselves, and we’re trying to support our colleagues all at the same time.

But there’s a lot of strain on healthcare right now. Not sure where this is headed. #medicine #healthcare
