Secretary Hegseth has decided that politics is more important than our national security and innocent children’s lives. Withholding this report until after the election is not only disgraceful, it is cowardly.
We have waited months – release the report. Congress and the American people deserve full transparency and accountability around this attack, and I will not rest until we have it.
If Secretary Hegseth and this administration put as much effort into protecting civilians as they do into dodging accountability, those children might still be alive, and we wouldn’t be in this reckless war with Iran.
Top Pentagon officials have expressed their intention to hold off on releasing an internal report into the attack on a school in southern Iran until after the US midterm elections at the earliest, according to people familiar bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

This news took my breath away this week.
Laura was a fierce advocate for the press corps and fought hard for us. But she also made me laugh every day, even on the very hardest days at the Capitol.

From Ukraine's leading newspaper. "This betrayal comes after one of the deadliest weeks for Ukrainian civilians. Last week, Russia killed more than 150 civilians in Ukraine. Just one of the strikes, on a bus stop in Kramatorsk, killed 33 people. In another Russian attack, in Pryluky, three one-year-old children were among the dead." kyivindependent.com/editoria…

While Musk owns SpaceX which controls Starlink systems and can impose restrictions on them in Ukraine, those that began overnight are on the Starshield military version of the system controlled by the Pentagon. This suggests the decision to limit the speed of the Starshield systems was made within the Trump administration. ft.com/content/37085602-726a…

BREAKING: Volodymyr Zelenskyy tells @piersmorgan he has been betrayed by Trump, that Elon Musk and the US deliberately cut off Starlink and people are being killed as a result
“This is not the right side of history,” he says. “It is a pity that we are losing a strong partner”
On Musk and Starlink he says: “This decision will bring a lot of human losses. Of course, people will die”
“I am sure they knew what they
did, absolutely. Because it was 1am at night, Starlink was blocked by SpaceX and the United States”
“It’s not just about attack. It’s also about defending life. So people were killed because, not enough destroying, not enough
interceptors, including interceptors with Starlink, which didn't work. Of
course.”
Asked if he’s angry with Musk, Zelenskyy says: “Yes, I think he is not right. It's a big mistake.”

The mood in Ukraine is grim today. There's frustration and outrage here in Kyiv towards the Trump administration over what Ukraine's government, the troops and society believe is a deliberate attempt on the part of Washington to force Ukraine to capitulate to Russia – by withholding intelligence that allows early warning when Russian missiles are incoming, and cutting off Starlink to the military which needs it to strike and for defence against jet drones. These decisions cut intel sharing and restrict Starlink cost lives; at least 5 people killed in Kyiv, 6 more in Lutsk, dozens others badly injured.
NEW: Ukrainian troops have been caught off guard by restrictions on Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet systems that disrupted frontline operations, as Kyiv received no advance warning from its partners of a Russian missile attack on its energy facilities for the second day running, Ukrainian officials and troops tell @FT.

"Security experts call these 'hybrid attacks,' and they are getting more common and more violent. They are perpetuated in a gray zone between war and diplomacy, where shady actors are used to create deniability for a nation’s provocative actions."

There is already a law making the importing of Russian oil illegal. It's called the "Ending Importation of Russian Oil Act" and it was signed into law in 2022.
We will be introducing bipartisan legislation to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It will be called the “Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.” It will be forced to the Floor via discharge and it will pass overwhelmingly. #PeaceThroughStrength

Trump and Putin agree on the need to remove Zelenskyy, who hasn't faced elections because (checks notes) Putin brutally invaded his country.

Kimberly Guilfoyle was preparing for her congressional hearing to become U.S. ambassador to Greece when she reached out to a Trump donor with an urgent request: She needed $100,000 that she said she owed American Express—in a way that wouldn’t leave a paper trail.
“It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” she wrote on Signal, according to messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. “Please.”

Replying to @PhilSheers
@PhilSheers & I write in @ForeignPolicy about @CNASdc wargames exploring the next war with a rearmed Iran. The results were troubling. Better warning & drone defenses help, but vulnerable bases raise harder questions about U.S. strategy & posture.
