For many projects I still plan so I align the agent on a design. I just don't use a mode for it.
Just like I don't revoke my team's write access to GitHub when we're designing
I never got into toggling modes 🤷🏻♂️ I just want to tell my agent what I want to do. I have spec and plan skills that guide the format I want and I talk to the agent like I would a teammate

I'm letting fable run unhinged in a VM to evaluate experiments with firecracker. Last night it was working on VM networking in a rust harness that bans unsafe. It wrote C code instead, compiled it to BPF, and copied the bytes into a Rust source file. Absolutely ruthless

This new API for defining a type returned by Prisma 8 came from Discord feedback, and makes defining a type from database, including nesting, extremely safe

We've been building our own agents to help us operationally and they all run on open weight models, mostly GLM
The newest is a code review agent that runs GLM-5.3 Flash. The Prisma team is already favoring it over the one we pay for and the core was built in a couple afternoons
We use @mastra for its excellent primitives and telemetry. It gives us a good foundation, is model agnostic, and improves every week. The skill and docs are great, so we unleash our agents to build agents. Highly recommend
The code review agent starts from a GitHub webhook, grabs some context, clones into a sandbox, generates a git diff, then gives the sandbox to an agent to perform the review. The agent has tools to report feedback and mark files as complete. If it ends the review without all files marked complete, a guard makes it continue. This all happens in a Mastra workflow. A few more things for replying to comments and such, but that's the gist of it
