Over the last few months I’ve been working to create a project that puts boxes of wildlife goodies free into new build homes, to encourage people to make their new gardens attractive to wildlife. it’s called Nature Box and the first ones head out very soon. #rewilding

Across Europe, country after country reports the same crisis for Eurasian Curlews - adult birds may survive and return each spring, but too few young are fledging to replace them. They live a long time so populations may look present, but they are disappearing from beneath us.

#NetZero is bad for fossil fuel companies but great for humanity.
Deloitte research reveals inaction on climate change could cost the world’s economy US$178 trillion by 2070 deloitte.com/au/en/issues/cl…
By contrast, the global economy could gain US$43 trillion over the next five decades by rapidly accelerating the transition to net-zero. #Climate

That’s the entire fuel bill for the maiden flight of the world's largest battery-electric aircraft: 27 minutes over upstate New York, 30 seats.
Meanwhile, dirty jet fuel is up 63% in a year
Short-haul trips make up 85% of all flights in the world. Electric planes don’t need to cross oceans to obliterate fossil fuel economics in aviation, they just need to take that 85% and that's coming: There are 200+ electric aircraft programs worldwide, with at least 10 with flying hardware

Beavers are helping to make Britain wetter again, in the process keeping rivers flowing, creating fire breaks & adding flood storage.
An excellent e.g. of the power & potential of Nature in building resilience to climate change-driven extreme weather.

Man made climate change is a much bigger threat to UK agriculture than solar panels, taking less space than golf courses even if we meet all renewables targets.
How about pony paddocks or biofuels?
And maybe focus your ire at the farmers who are happily allowing solar farms.
Covering thousands of acres of prime farmland with solar panels is a moral failure dressed up as virtue. It’s countryside vandalism.
Prime farmland exists to grow food. Not to host glass and silicon for 25 years while populations rise and arable land shrinks.
Better sites for solar exist in abundance: rooftops, brownfields, car parks. Choosing fertile fields instead is not necessity. It is preference - often driven by subsidies and land-use politics that undermine farmers, rural communities and future food security. That is not good governance. It is a corporation land grab contempt for the basic human requirement to eat. Because no farmland, no food.

So @DFDSLiveUpdates why on Earth did you advise us this morning to get to Dover just 60mins before our Ferry when it took that long just to get thru customs. Now missed your ferry and made our day trip totally pointless for my wife’s birthday. Absolutely terrible customer service

My neighbour went for a paddle off Deal and found this. I had just been out on it too. Looks like sewage to us rather than algal blooms which, I know, you can get and have filmed before. Any experts out there have any thoughts? @WindrushWasp @sascampaigns @SOSWhitstable
