Ad hoc security works until it doesn’t. The problem is that organizations rarely notice the transition point until they’re already past it.

If your organization has worked with RSI Security — as a C3PAO or in any advisory capacity — a review on G2 or Clutch helps other organizations make a more informed decision.

The assessment closed. The report is clean. Most teams have no structured plan for what comes next.
The assessment is the starting line. The teams that treat it as a finish line find out what that costs at the next audit cycle.

This week's threat landscape highlights a clear and consistent pattern: the systems built to manage and protect everything else — network access controllers, personnel databases, collaboration platforms, and identity recovery mechanisms — became the front door.

CUI handling requirements are where most CMMC Level 2 gaps actually live — and most organizations don't find out until the assessor does.
👉 See where your organization stands — schedule a CMMC readiness review with RSI Security, an authorized C3PAO. Link in comments.
The standard response to audit fatigue is some version of "we need more resources." More people. Better tooling. Bigger budget. Those things can help at the margins. They don't address the structural condition that produces the fatigue in the first place.

Phase II contractual requirements are paused — but per the Cyber AB's most recent Town Hall, C3PAOs are actively conducting Level 2 assessments right now. DFARS 252.204-7012 remains in force. The pause created time. It didn't create a reason to stop preparing.

Finding from our new report: most major compliance frameworks — NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, CMMC, HITRUST — assess many of the same underlying security outcomes. Access control, logging, incident response, and encryption show up across nearly all of them.

Tomorrow we're publishing the Compliance Fragmentation Report 2026 — new research on the operational cost of managing overlapping frameworks as disconnected programs, plus a five-step model for fixing it.
Q3 is closing out. Q4 starts now.
The work isn't slowing down. Neither are we.

Compliance fragmentation isn't a framework problem. It's a mapping problem. NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, CMMC, and HITRUST all assess a lot of the same underlying controls — access control, logging, incident response, encryption. Most programs just aren't built to see that.
Here's a number that should bother anyone running a compliance program: the same control can get evidenced, interviewed, and validated separately — once per framework — every single audit cycle.
Most financial services organizations have model risk management programs that predate the current AI governance conversation. The problem is those programs were built around traditional statistical models.
This week's threat landscape highlights a threshold moment: AI has crossed from attacker productivity tool into operational attack capability, one threat actor with commercial AI models breached 395 organizations across 48 countries, with 11 compromised in 26 seconds.
