Hey @AnthropicAI -- up here in BC we have a govt that
1) actually has ethics,
2) values people's security,
Just saying,tes the tech sector,
(and all in a gorgeous place to live/play/do business)
Just saying. ;)
Seriously though: appreciate that doing good matters to you.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

California is ready to fight.
I just called an emergency special session to help bolster our legal resources and protect our state against any unlawful actions by the incoming Trump Administration.
Whether it be our fundamental civil rights, reproductive freedom, or climate action -- we refuse to turn back the clock and allow our values and laws to be attacked.

Seems relevant in BC these days...
John McCain and I didn’t always agree, but he understood that some values transcended parties. He knew that if we got in the habit of bending the truth to suit political expediency or party orthodoxy, our democracy will not work.
John McCain had character. That’s what I think about so much these days because it’s so different from what we see out of the Republican nominee.

My message to billionaires who don’t want to chip in their fair share is: I’m not your guy.
My message to British Columbians is this: Let’s stick together.
Let’s work together to build a brighter future for everyone, not just those at the top.

This is a good idea - free transit for folks on election day to make sure everyone has a chance to vote.

Just unbelievable that John Rustad announced a "reproductive health" plan that doesn't mention abortion access or contraception. Not once.
Our rights are on the ballot this election.

Misinformation + lies cost us in both money + lives. It is not OK.

This meant taking resources away from aid and first responders, and giving it to a team to counter false claims.

This is an important program that makes all of our schools safer.
A report on the use of SOGI 123 in schools across B.C. finds that it has been effective in reducing violence and discrimination, even for heterosexual students.

John Rustad’s plan: tax breaks for the top 2%, while the rest of us get left with the bill. He apparently thinks trickle-down economics works better than the economic experts do. #OnBrand

Wow! You make that all by yourself from your perch in WestVan? 🎨
While you were off getting rich from your global mining escapades, I was here serving people in NorthVan and supporting communities facing climate disasters with a baby strapped to my back. But u do u, Big Man.
Under @BowinnMa and the NDP, the housing crisis has worsened, traffic remains a mess, hospital wait times are up, and taxes are rising. North Vancouver-Lonsdale deserves better leadership. The NDP has failed. It’s time for change. #NDPmustGo #NorthVancouver #bcpoli
People in our communities have lost their homes and even livelihoods. Rustad doesn’t believe in the science of climate change - the same science firefighters use to fight wildfires. How can you fight fires and keep communities safe when you believe the science is a “hoax”?

As a BC Liberal cabinet minister, Rustad spent just $7.6M a year on wildfire prevention. David Eby & our BC NDP team are massively expanding work to keep people safe and are now investing 10x what John Rustad did each year to prevent fires to protect our communities.

We're tackling issues now that past governments knowingly ignored, deferring & increasing the costs on issues we are now fixing.
We rebuilt the Province's system of disaster management, including recovery, that past administrations ignored because it was easier not to do it.
