We had to say goodbye to Duncan today. He was such a sweet, loving boy. His little brothers will miss him. A lot. As will we. His wide ranging vocalizations, his prancing dancing, his drive by cuddles. We are so grateful he was part of our wacky wolf pack even for a short spell. But I’m sure he bounded across that Rainbow Bridge toward his sister Duchess whom he loved, worshipped, and admired. This new Mike Flanagan adaptation on Amazon of Stephen King’s oft-told tale #Carrie? Utterly stunning. I’m gutted after just one episode. I nearly cried multiple times throughout episode one … and finally sobbed uncontrollably at *that* shower scene. I did not anticipate having such a reaction to a moment that is not exactly a surprise. This show is well worth your time. A finely calibrated Swiss clock inversion of the Cinderella fairy tale. A devastatingly expert indictment of the casual cruelty plaguing today’s culture, and a timely reminder that compassion is desperately needed every moment of every day.
