Today, Brad Lander, rabbis, and other New Yorkers accompanied Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. For that, they were detained by the Israeli government.
Harvesting olives is not illegal. The occupation is.
I am thankful that Brad has been released. But other New Yorkers remain detained, and they must be released immediately.
The same Israeli government detaining them has committed a horrific genocide against Palestinians, killing more than 74,000 people over the last few years alone.
The detention of these New Yorkers must end. The occupation must end. The genocide must end.

One reason Democrats should go on Fox is to show our comparative economic competence.
The host says that France spends 57% of its GDP/budget on education. That's ludicrous.
It spends 4% of GDP and 10% of its budget.
Perhaps, the Fox host meant France spends 57% of GDP on public expenditure.
The US is around 40 percent.
But that differential is largely b/c France provides healthcare.
In the US, workers have to pay a mandatory privatized tax for healthcare that is hugely regressive.
US healthcare expenditure is at 18% of GDP that dwarfs France's at about 11%.
Americans would get a much better bargain if we had Medicare for All.
The problem is we have been cutting taxes for billionaires and misallocating our health spending to benefit private interests.
Taxing billionaires and investing in the education and healthcare of our people would lead to dignity for all and supercharge economic growth in an era that values human capital most.

Thomas Massie responds to media when asked about the latest developments on the Epstein Files: “You know, if this were a private law firm with 5% of the resources of the DOJ, this would have been done by the deadline. And they just missed another deadline, which is the report to Congress, which is supposed to list all the politicians that are in their files, and also they’re supposed to justify all the redactions 15 days after the first 30-day window.
But the biggest problem isn’t that they’re missing the deadlines—it’s what they’re redacting. So they’re citing the Privacy Act and they’re trying to pretend like that overrides a law that we just passed that says you can’t withhold records to prevent embarrassment. They’re also citing FOIA standards which don’t apply to our law when they’re trying to say that they don’t have to release internal decisions, but our bill specifically says release internal decisions.”
