• Israel controls 700 square kilometers of southern Lebanon.
• 200,000 Shiite residents displaced from the area.
• More than 60 (Shia) villages and 23,000 homes used by Hezbollah demolished.
• Israeli forces will remain in Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed throughout Lebanon.
• Any drone or rocket attack targeting northern Israel will trigger major Israeli strikes against Beirut’s southern suburbs
• Hezbollah joining an Iranian attack would trigger a massive Israeli military response, and Israel is prepared to advance toward Nabatieh and the Litani River, evacuate additional areas and incorporate them into a permanent security zone.

In January 2006, Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza participated in democratic legislative elections. Hamas won a majority of the seats in the Palestinian Legislative Council and have governed Gaza since.
Since the 2007 political split between Fatah and Hamas, the Palestinian Authority (PA) has not held national legislative or presidential elections. As a result, Palestinians living in the West Bank have been denied the opportunity to vote for national leadership for two decades.
Jews are prohibited from living, worshiping, or voting in Gaza.
