🚨 WATCH: Andy Burnham issues a diagnosis of Britain
"The British right talk about taking back control, NEVER let them forget that they are the ones that gave it away in the first place"
WHAT. A. SPEECH, Historic, era-defining, inspiring. The extent to which @andyburnham has stepped up to the challenges of our time is truly amazing. 🌹
“Right-to-Buy in reverse”
We’re investing £50m to acquire 200 homes and reverse the disastrous legacy of Thatcher’s “Right-to-Buy” on local government funding.

Amen. A huge loss to the government and the party.

Today we’re launching a campaign to raise awareness of the impact of open fires and wood burners on public health.
Did you know that burning in homes produces more fine particle pollution than all traffic in the UK? Or that it contributes to 1 in 20 deaths of ppl over 30 in B&H?
We're launching a campaign to raise awareness of the harm being caused by people using wood burners and open fires.
We want people to know the harmful impact that smoke particles from domestic burning are having on everybody’s health.

"It's nuts." Labour and the Green Party have clashed over news that Brighton's i360 viewing platform has filed for administration, owing £51m to Brighton and Hove City Council.

I’m personally not surprised but gutted for the city at this final act of the i360 saga. Time for those who made the city pay such a heavy price to reflect and recognise the amount they were duped and the amount we are all paying …
“£2 million each year for the foreseeable future – money that could’ve been spent on nurseries, play areas, public toilets, preventing homelessness, road repairs, transitioning to Net Zero and dozens of other vital local services.”
Outrageous.

Well there it is. After struggling for years, the i360 has now filed for insolvency. The Greens and Tories joint decision in 2014 to speculatively bankroll this private business has left the council with £51m of debt and is nothing short of scandalous.
A sad day for the city.
