(๑'ᵕ'๑)⸝* i wanted to share one of my favorite website to commission art on! 🩷 i commissioned my merch on artmug...! a 2nd character design, and a few other top secret projects! artmug.kr/index.php it is a korean platform... so when you open the website it'll be in korean! however, there are 3rd party translators that can translate pages for you. HOWEVER! you can use it if you're outside of South Korea (with paypal)! there's an english guide on the home page!! c: i'm not sponsored... i just don't wanna be an art platform gatekeeper! ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ my guide (on how to use artmug!) 1. find an artist you're looking for! (artmug has different categories) & open their commission page! 2. scroll down! to find an artist's prices, look for "가격 옵션" or "pricing options" ! here, you can calculate a quote yourself. note: please message the artist before putting in an order! 3. find the button that says "작가에게 문의" or "Inquiry to the Author"! i believe the % on the button is the percentage of messages they've answered! 4. send them a message! i included some tips on how to message artists below! c: 5. after communicating your request, and it's accepted, you'll have to make a payment! note: please let your artist know that you're a foreigner and it may be a few days (depending on the week day) before your payment is processed! foreigners (anyone living outside of South Korea) have to pay with paypal! there's a few extra steps... so look at the payment guide here! 🩷 bit.ly/4xDgMZv ordering guide / key words! useage! 비상업용 - non-commercial! this is art for personal use. 방송용 - broadcasting! this is art that's used for streaming, or if you're a monetised creator! every artist has different definitions for what's "broadcasting"... for some! broadcasting is only if you make money on platforms, and others it's if you're a CC in general! 상업용 - commercial art! used in merchandise! commission types! 두상 - headshot 흉상 - bust 반신 - half body! (note: if you use something like google translate, it might translate as "demigod") 전신 - full body!! (note: this might translate as "telegraph" with a machine translator) artist messaging tips! 1. if you're using a translator, let them know at the start of your message! translators are NOT perfect...! so sometimes there can be errors, let them know and that they can ask for clarification if needed! 2. to follow up on the translator comment, include your original (untranslated) message at the bottom! 3. be SPECIFIC! i find that using images can help a LOT with language barriers. so provide lots of references images. if you want to highlight something in particular, you can circle it and label it with a number!! then, leave a note with the number in your message. 4. let them know what you'll be using the piece for! i included some terms above with the korean words... which should help you get the point across! 5. be polite and patient!! :D i've had nothing but fantastic experiences with artists there, but due to timezones (i live in the US... and most artists live in SK) you have to be patient at times. ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ and this concludes my artmug guide! ദ്ദി´ ˘ `)✧ if you need help, please don't be afraid to ask questions! i can also show you some of my commissions or suggest artists if you DM me!! and as a reminder, YOU!
