The war on poverty, the war between the have & have nots, the upper ruling class & lower classes, those who have & want to maintain power and those who don’t believe they have power...
It’s a tale about as old as time.

Last thought for the night from #EchoParkRiseUp: As I was leaving, a man staying in the park asked me why LAPD was advancing and what was going to happen to him. 12:30 a.m., no one had communicated to this man whether or not he could sleep in the place he's been living for weeks.

My friends are getting arrested in Echo Park rn for #EchoParkRiseUp.
Was live with a friend when they got arrested. Total BS. LAPD is a waste of tax dollars that could be going to care.
Donate to @JailSupportLA for bail funds.

Hundreds of protestors with their hands up facing cops in riot gear outside Mitch O’Farrell’s office in Echo Park. Protestors asking to speak to a commanding officer and being ignored.

LAPD does not keep us safe. They are a violent occupying force #EchoParkRiseUp

Let’s flood their lines with calls for accountability - it’s unacceptable & dangerous to follow in the footsteps of O’Farrell.

A neighborhood in lockdown. Hundreds of cops in riot gear. Reporters being zip-tied and detained. Protesters being kettled and arrested. This is a disgrace and it did not have to happen. It’s a shameful day for Los Angeles.
By my count this makes 5 reporters from different organizations that were detained tonight. Both reporters from @KNOCKdotLA and @ACatWithNews have still not been accounted for.

The city of LA spent THOUSANDS of dollars w/ LAPD terrorizing citizens last night. They are on site even earlier today spending THOUSANDS more.
Videos from friends make them look ready for war on unarmed, peaceful vigil attendees & our unhomed neighbors.
