Abstract set a dangerous precedent: an L2 can collect gas fees, make teams pay to build on its chain, incentivize users and builders with token expectations, then shut down without ever delivering a TGE. They extracted value from an ecosystem they encouraged people to invest in, then left those same people holding the bag. Base and RH are different, they never ran points campaigns tied to expected token rewards. If Abstract gets away with this, every L2 gets a blueprint to exploit its community and walk away with zero accountability.

The Abstract team straight up had zero respect for our money or our time. Let me be clear, around 2-3months ago, the team started doing 1 on 1 calls with some of the biggest voices in the Abstract community, after that, my timeline was suddenly full of people shilling Abstract, talking about how bullish the future was and how Phase 2 was basically around the corner, even just a few days ago, team members were still reassuring everyone about the future of the chain, and literally this Tuesday, they still distributed XP like nothing was happening. And this is the part that pisses me off the most, i can accept a project failing, what i can’t accept is being played like a fucking idiot. For TWO YEARS people have been grinding XP, spending money, minting shit, farming badges, using featured dApps, doing whatever the fuck the ecosystem asked them to do, and the whole time, through AMAs, interviews and team communications, we were told these XP would eventually turn into rewards, so why the fuck were you still pushing people to spend money and earn XP if you already knew the chain was basically on its way out within weeks/months? Luckily, over the last year i focused more on Cambria and OCH and got pretty lucky there, but even after all that, i still lost $20k+ on Abstract, i minted NFTs, burned money for badges, used the featured dApps on the portal and did pretty much everything you could possibly do on the chain. I can accept Abstract failing, i cannot accept the bullshit, the fake reassurance and the complete lack of respect for the people who actually supported this chain, you had every right to fail, you did NOT have the right to keep farming your own community’s time and money while knowing where this was heading. After two years of support, the least you owed us was fucking honesty.

This is the cleanest rug of the year: "Abstract chain" > started with $11M+ fundraise > farmed $35M fees from users > shut the chain down with no airdrop 3x for investors & team in less than 2 years. No TGE, No token, No problem.

If there is still anyone who believes in Luca and his team, they are just as responsible as Luca himself. If you continue to support this scammer even after seeing what he has done, I honestly have no words for you. We dedicated two years to Abstract. In return for all the time and money we invested, we got absolutely nothing from them. They deceived the entire community, and I hope one day they experience the same thing themselves. If there are still people around you who believe in these clowns, cut ties with them without a second thought. These scammers completely wiped out the value of people's hard work and effort. At this point, anyone who can still believe in people who behave like this is simply selfish and only cares about themselves. At first, I was considering buying a BAYC, but Abstract also seemed appealing to me, so I bought Pudgy NFTs instead and invested an amount of money in this project that was significant for me. More importantly, I invested my time. Of course, the time that is gone will never come back. I sold my Pudgy NFTs by accepting offers, and I feel much better now. I don't want to be part of this scam anymore. After the PENGU airdrop, people trusted the Pudgy team, and I was one of them. But now that things have reached this point, it has become very clear to me that these people are nothing but scammers. Lastly, if someone else's loss makes you happy, then you are truly evil.

did you know that the terms you casually agreed to by checking that box to withdraw your money are packed with toxic clauses? but you can’t even withdraw your money unless you agree, so it’s basically forced consent lol 🚨 summary of the major toxic clauses in abstract’s terms of service (tos) 1. the company isn’t responsible even if your assets disappear no liability for asset losses caused by hacking, security vulnerabilities, or the company’s ordinary negligence. if the service shuts down, any assets not transferred out by the deadline will be permanently lost. 2. extreme limits that make it hard to get compensation even if the company is held liable for its negligence, compensation is capped at the fees you paid over the past year or $100, whichever is greater. 3. stripped of legal rights (no lawsuits) disputes can only be resolved through u.s. arbitration (aaa), not domestic courts. class actions are prohibited. you have just one year to bring a claim after the grounds for it arise. 4. all responsibility falls on the user if a dispute arises from a violation of the terms or similar reasons, the user must fully reimburse the company for its defense costs, including attorney fees. 😂 this is after asking for it to be summarized twice is an agreement this coercive even legally enforceable? abstract, luca netz, and igloo. comedy in long shot.

Replying to @LucaNetz
@LucaNetz isn’t the only person to take on something he can’t handle and then walk away. but abstract demanded so much loyalty and engagement for so long, only to treat the users who worked hardest to meet those expectations like trash. this is a soft rug that deserves to go down in crypto history. of course, he’s not the only one responsible. we also bear a lot of responsibility for trusting him. because almost all of us were skeptical of layer 2s but got involved anyway, trusting his ability to make it work. the more you trusted luca netz and pudgy penguins, the more you probably lost, whether it was money or time. luca netz’s statement says nothing about what users lost. it only talks about how much he and his company lost. as if to mock all of this, the prices of solana:2zMMhcVQEXDtdE6vsFS7S7D5oUodfJHE8vd1gnBouauv and pudgy penguins will hold steady or rise for a while. they’ll manipulate the prices themselves, if only to show that the project is still going strong. even so, people won’t trust him as much as they used to. trust is the lifeblood of a community based business. just watch. i’ve seen how he treats loyal users. return to pudgy penguins? i’m not going back. P.S. the head of the project shouldn’t be saying things like “i lost money too.” grow up.

Everyone saw this coming, but nobody wanted to say it out loud. What just happened is peak irresponsibility and the sheer audacity of this rug is actually sickening. @LucaNetz revived Pudgy from the dead, pumped the hype all the way through the token launch, and cashed in every ounce of community trust to spin up @AbstractChain. Let’s be real. 99% of people farming the chain, bridging funds, and engaging with the ecosystem did it purely because of Luca. Every time they pulled ridiculous stunts from selling idol photocards to ecosystem projects doing absolute clown shit we shut up and swallowed it. Why? Because Luca went on endless interview tours gaslighting everyone into believing they were cooking something generational. We stayed hooked on pure cope, chanting "SOOOON" like farm animals waiting for slaughter. Even when it became glaringly obvious that the Abstract team was packed with incompetent clowns, everyone still held out hope thinking "It's Luca, he wouldn't do us dirty." And this is how they repay that loyalty? straight up knife in the back. What about the real money and liquidity believers bridged to the chain? What about the countless hours wasted sweating for XP points? Closing up shop and pulling the plug with zero accountability or closure is foul beyond words. At the end of the day, Pudgy was always just Web2 toy play and Abstract was an afterthought to milk liquidity. Luca never cared about onchain infrastructure he used community as exit liquidity to build his plushie brand

My time, my money… what the hell have I been doing for the past two years? 🤡🤡
What hurts more than the shutdown of @AbstractChain itself is the attitude and explanation Luca showed across Discord and the Spaces. Shutting down a chain to prevent reckless token launches amid financial exhaustion and poor market conditions is a business decision one can logically understand. But narrative he pushed today sounded far less like the calculated leadership of a founder and far more like defensive complaining designed to shift the blame of system failure onto the community. The most damaging remark was his claim that whether you spent money and time on the chain he lost a few million as well so everyone is in the same boat. This is textbook deflective communication that invalidates the other party entirely. The entrepreneurial risk a founder shoulders and the opportunity cost of regular users who poured time and liquidity into an ecosystem based on trust are fundamentally different. Equating the community devotion to personal capital loss as if both sides are even completely dismisses the organic effort people put in. It is equally contradictory to complain that capital was drained by cherry pickers and airdrop farmers while asking why people could not just be real users instead of farming. The team itself designed the system where every onchain activity was tied to XP and reinforced by a competitive ranking structure. Designing an incentive loop that naturally drives farming behavior and then blaming the users who acted logically within those rules is nothing more than deflecting a failure in product and game design. The vast majority of the explanation today centered on self defense such as fearing community disappointment and pleading for empathy regarding how hard he fought. Abstract shutdown was certainly not an impulse decision made overnight. It was likely a calculated exit strategy planned weeks in advance with legal counsel. The fact that after so much preparation the core takeaway delivered to the public was the posture of being the ultimate victim reveals a severe absence of true accountability. Closing the Spaces by apologizing for the wasted time and money on Abstract while asserting that his ultimate responsibility lies with Pudgy Penguins is a convenient shield. The core users who rushed in early to generate volume and support the chain were the exact supporters who believed in @pudgypenguins vision in the first place. Using one community as a moral shield to write off the disappointment of another cannot be branded as responsibility. A venture can miss its golden window and fail due to poor execution or macro conditions. What remains unacceptable is belittling the participants of a game you designed while using personal losses to erase the collective sacrifice of the community. When a project that champions a community first ethos concludes with this level of disregard it sets a bitter precedent for anyone considering putting their time and faith into a founder vision.

🚨STATEMENT🚨 Gm. This is a hard time for me, surely the worst day since I m in Web 3, of course I m sad because of the shut down of @AbstractChain, but I m a Lawyer/Attorney irl and I m not letting this as it is, I m sorry. Every affected user can dm me to join the group that will initiate the legal actions in the States through X or dc. In my capacity as counsel to persons affected by the announced shutdown of the Abstract network, I state the following: On the facts known to this firm, the matter bears serious indicia of criminal fraud and, only in the alternative, of civil fraud. It is not treated as a mere business decision to cease operations. In the coming weeks, in my condition of representant of the affected users from Abstract, I will contact the most prestigious lawfirms in the United States, to prepare and file a criminal complaint or, if appropriate, a civil action before the competent courts against @LucaNetz , @IglooInc , and any collaborators in the network who participated, by act or omission, in the matters under review. Those represented regard this as one of the most serious frauds committed in the cryptoasset space. The affected parties I represent are prepared to enter into good-faith, confidential negotiations with those responsible before proceedings are commenced. Contact may be made through this X account or on Discord: degorcaxyz. Absent a serious proposal within a short period, judicial proceedings will be brought without delay before the competent jurisdiction. All criminal, civil, and other rights and remedies of those represented are expressly reserved. 🤝

okay Happy XP Day! I finally hit Diamond 3, and this moment has finally come. Now Obsidian is only a matter of time. I should be able to reach it within 100 weeks, right? The silence does seem to be getting pretty long, and people are starting to wonder what’s going on. I just hope the silence doesn’t drag on for too long. One, two, three LFG, Abstract!
