But now, in Ujjain, a portion (not the mosque) or some structures aligned with the mosque compound being removed for road widening has triggered a confrontation with police. Look at the violent veto from the mob. The demolition has HC sanction. And therefore the principle should be simple: RELIGIOUS STRUCTURES CANNOT GET A SPECIAL EXEMPTION FROM DEVELOPMENT.
If a temple can make way for a road, so can a mosque.
The rule must be applied EQUALLY.
