While we wait for the next incarnation of Joe Bob and Darcy at the drive-in, let's do our part to make sure the drive-in will never die!
Go visit your local outdoor theater, and keep a few things in mind!
🎬 Rules of the Drive-In 🍿
1. 🍔 Support the concession stand. That's where drive-ins make most of their profit. Just look at how cheap the ticket prices are! Skip the outside food when you can.
2. 🚗 Arrive early. You'll get a better spot and have time to settle in before the movie starts. Heck, maybe you'll run into Joe Bob if you're early enough and Cracker Barrel we too crowded!
3. 📻 Bring a working FM radio... or make sure your car radio works!
4. 💡 Turn off your headlights and daytime running lights once you're parked. If you forget, a drive-in attendant will likely come by. If you don't know how to turn your lights off, they can't help!
5. 📱 Dim your phone. You're outside, but a bright screen can still distract the people around you, especially once it's dark!
6. 🚙 If you drive a tall truck or SUV, park toward the back so everyone can see. If you open your SUV rear hatch, tie it down so it's no higher than your roof.
7. 🗑️ Leave your space cleaner than you found it.
8. 🤫 If sitting outside your vehicle or with the windows down, keep conversations low during the movie. Sound carries more than you think.
9. 🐕 If pets are welcome, be sure they're well-behaved and under control.
10. 🚫 Don't speed through the lot. Kids are often walking around after dark.
11. 🦟 Bug spray is your friend. Trust us. Heck, if the theater carries those little burning mosquito repellent wicks, you'll probably get to see an old school commercial for them during the trailers!
12. 🪫 Don't drain your car battery. Keep your vehicle in accessory mode when you can, or consider bringing a portable radio or battery pack.
13. 🌧️ Pack a blanket or hoodie. Even summer nights can get chilly.
14. 🎥 No spoilers if you've seen the movie already!
15. ❤️ Remember you're helping keep a piece of Americana alive. Treat the drive-in and your fellow mutants with respect!
Did I miss anything? Tell me! Better yet, tell me about your local drive-in theater!

Fun Pack REALLY making dreams come true. Thanks Dinosaur Dracula! The Transformers stickers would have been enough, but a regular sized MoTU figure? Hats off.
I know it isn’t Rocky and Bullwinkle stuff, but I thought you’d get a kick out of this anyway. 😆 Awesome show last night! @ThatKevinSmith #carolproblems #KingofQueens #fuck

Very long rant, sorry, again.
The son of the owner, CEO, and president of the Reds stood in front of Reds fans piss drunk on Opening Day 2022 just weeks after selling off the best players on a team that just missed the playoffs and said “Well, where ya gonna go?” In response to a prominent Cincinnati radio host (@MoEgger) asking him why Reds fans should have faith in this ownership group. Seriously, that’s not made up. That happened. On opening day, in front of 100s of thousands of people, live on Cincinnati’s #1 radio station, he said that and felt zero shame. He later appeared on a local news channel after the game (looking absolutely buckled) and doubled down on the quote.
Our president of baseball operations got up in front of everyone and said their goal is to “eliminate PEAKS and valleys.” That’s real! He said that!
What they are doing is intentional. Winning 78-84 games is intentional. So intentional they have mastered how to do it. They have mastered how to hang around in the hunt, never truly in it to be buyers. Never truly out of it to be sellers. Just in it enough to where no national attention or scrutiny will ever come of it.
So this is me begging the national media. A father of 2. Im pleading at 10:40 on a Tuesday. When you talk about the worst front offices and ownership groups in baseball, please please please acknowledge the Cincinnati Reds in the conversation. In fact, please lead with them.
I’m 30 years old (almost), I have 2 kids. I have never seen the Reds advance in the playoffs. I have never seen the Reds win a home playoff game. They have made the playoffs 5 times (im counting game 163 in ‘99 and whatever 2020 was) in my life and have played 12 playoff games. They have been shutout in 5 of them.
This is a bottom 5 organization in all of American sports. Please talk about them in that fashion. I’m begging.
