Have actual patience in waiting out for the big move, not for anything smaller. It's very much like a high-quality chess game where much time is spent building up resources before unleashing an opportune attack. You have to have a solid foundation first before any campaign will have the power to penetrate.

Jensen traces Taiwan's chip dominance back to an unlikely source: Philips, the Dutch consumer electronics giant he calls "the GE of Europe." Philips, he says, is "the parent company that spun the fab that became TSMC, and spun off the semiconductor manufacturing equipment that became ASML." The seed was planted in the 1950s by K.T. Li, who set out to bring science and technology manufacturing to Taiwan and lured Philips over. Then came perfect timing with the PC revolution: IBM opened the specs for IBM compatible chipsets, and Taiwanese engineers took that open spec and designed the chipsets "manufactured at TSMC and UMC." That is what made the PC industry possible. A young Michael Dell just "bought motherboards from Taiwan, assembled them into a PC," and became a PC maker. Jensen Huang on Lex Fridman

i regret to inform you that personal growth rarely comes from acquiring new knowledge and almost always from: -getting humiliated -showing up terrified and doing it anyway -admitting you might be the problem

Get up again. And again. And again. That's it. That's the whole strategy. There is no secret formula behind the men who made it. They just refused to stay down longer than the hit lasted. You don't need a new plan. You need to stop abandoning the one you already have every time it gets hard. Get up. Go again.

When our wishes are not fulfilled, or when we are sick, bereaved, or otherwise in difficulty, we should not be discouraged. Instead of feeling self-pity, we should use our suffering to strengthen our spiritual practice.

Well, it could be true... that he'll be laughed at especially looking like that but that should be the real point. Even so, after the laughter not just before, it's the imagination causing the anguish.

Because we are in samsara, we often have to endure unpleasant conditions and misfortune. With the patience of voluntarily enduring suffering, however, we can happily and courageously accept these adversities whenever they arise.

Dependent Origination: The Buddha’s Wisdom on Suffering ☸️ The Buddha taught that suffering has causes, and that understanding those causes opens the way to freedom and Liberation. His teaching on Dependent Origination reveals how an ordinary experience can become a source of distress through Craving and Clinging. This is a process that can be understood in the midst of daily life. For example: Consider someone sitting quietly in meditation. The breath settles, the body relaxes, and then a dog begins barking nearby. Hearing the sound brings an unpleasant feeling. Soon, the mind desires silence: β€œWhy won’t the dog stop barking?” That desire tightens into the belief and conviction that meditation has been ruined. Even between the barks, resentment continues. Notice how the suffering has grown. The sound was unwelcome, but Craving for silence and Clinging to the desire an undisturbed meditation have prolonged the struggle. The mind keeps returning to its grievance, feeding the very agitation it wishes to escape. Mindfulness offers another possibility. The meditator can recognise the unpleasant feeling and the urge to resist it, allowing both to be known through awareness without continually feeding them. With practice, discomfort need not carry the added weight of resentment. The dog may still be barking, yet the heart begins to discover the freedom The Buddha pointed towards: peace through awareness and understanding and letting go. Note: In this example, neither the sound from the barking dog nor the unpleasant feeling itself caused the suffering. Suffering arose through Craving for silence and Clinging to the belief that peace was impossible without it. πŸ™ #Buddha #Buddhism #Buddhist #Scripture

In other words, the ability to see things others cannot and thus allowing you to 'predict' or determine the logical course from that seeing.
Elon Musk just threw out IQ scores, degrees, and fancy vocabulary in one sentence. His definition of intelligence is brutal and simple: how accurately can you predict what happens next? Not how fast you read. Not how many books you’ve finished. Not how well you debate. Just β€” were you right about the future? Think about it. A chess grandmaster sees 20 moves ahead. A great investor sees where markets go before they get there. A great engineer sees failure points before they fail. They’re not β€œsmart” because of how they performed in school. They’re smart because reality keeps confirming their predictions. And the same applies to AI. Elon doesn’t care how fluently a model writes or how impressive it sounds. He wants to know: does it get the future right? By that metric, most of what we call intelligence is just confidence wearing a costume.

Of course the longer you stay at an endeavor the better you'll get but I believe the strongest path forward is always to think new and different thoughts on every step in front of you. The reason we plateau or become stuck is we unconsciously rehash with the same circularity in our logic.

I found daily candles are the most effective medium to garner the largest gains as intraday frames function on much less time and with less time, the distance traveled will also be that much less hence smaller gains, plus time pressure with decay is another constraint if options are used. Conversely, the weekly or monthly candles are the opposite end of inefficiency as the time waiting is less the time that could've been more intelligently capitalized.

This is a surprisingly insightful book I bought today, really an extension to Tom Williams' thesis. I especially liked the idea that insiders/institutional traders would keep testing a level until most all demand or supply is eliminated before resuming in the direction of the trend. Excellent read indeed.
