She then proceeded to confidently guide me through the menu explaining the best deals
While simultaneously putting pressure on her male colleague twice her height to give service to waiting customers
30 years back she would have been at the mercy of her villagers and husband, with the sword of being an outcast dangling on her head
In post globalised India she is snatching the confidence which nature and society denied her, earning a respectable income to face the world on her own terms
Humbled through and through by these real life heroes 🙏

I want to understand this. Genuine question below.
This satellite image is by NASA's Lance showing fires over north India. This is not very accurate because this data is based on morning and early afternoon active fires, but it seems the farm fires are lit in late afternoon after this satellite passes over. Anyway it gives us a good indication of where the farm fires are happening.
Here's my question: Why do Punjab farmers have to burn their stubble and Haryana or UP farmers don't burn them as much? What is the difference between the crops sown or stubble management between these states?
