It’s like you all forgot that the founder and owner of Victoria’s Secret was deeply connected to Jeffrey Epstein
This part. Paying to own music does not mean that is the only place you are allowed to listen to it. It just means you chose to support the artist as directly as possible, which is what allows them the possibility to continue being an artist.

I think this misses the fundamental purpose of DTC. Ownership comes with a degree of responsibility and sometimes inconvenience. That’s the price of possessing something rather than merely accessing it through a service. For me, purchasing music directly is also a small act of resistance against an industry that has increasingly reduced ownership to temporary access.
And reducing an artist’s desire for compensation to “capitalism” ignores a fundamental principle: people have a right to benefit from the labor of their own hands.
Convenience is valuable, but it isn’t the only value worth preserving. DTC doesn’t have to replicate streaming to justify its existence. The point isn’t simply how easily we can listen to music, but what kind of relationship we’re willing to have with the people who create it.
Like if I buy yo album from bandcamp , I gotta go into my files folder and either put that folder into an app like untitled which has limited storage or play the files using YouTube or Spotify playing local files. If I have to get on YouTube or Spotify to play the music I bought , why wouldn't I just stream it from there.
The DTC model doesnt address actually listening to the music in our everyday settings. It just addresses artists not getting paid lolll (capitalism) and people dont really give a fuck if the artist gets paid or not , they want an easy fluid way to listen to music.

At this point I would trust ticket sites more if they just came right out and said “to ensure a fair fan experience, we’re blocking real people”
No LA dates on this run which means everyone in every other city has to attend for me. Sorry I don’t make the rules.
