Welcome to the Wands, Rob Strachan ✍️ We are delighted to announce the signing of 25 year old defender Rob Strachan, who joins us from Erith & Belvedere. A product of the Millwall youth set up, Rob has also had spells with Aveley and Welling United before joining the Deres, where he captained the side and made 153 appearances. Rob now joins London’s oldest football club. 🤝 #cwfc #coyw

The phone call 📞 I knew I would get one day, we get enough phone calls every season. Quite simply the best person I’ve come across in football. There aren’t enough words, I wear my heart on my sleeve and so does this guy @robstrachan_ thank you for just about everything ❤️🦌

Chairman's Statement - Rob Strachan My Captain, Our Captain – Strachs This isn’t goodbye; it’s simply until next time. There are no words that can truly express how grateful we are. Thank you for the performances, the conversations, the friendship, and for allowing us to get to know not only you, but your family as well. You epitomise everything a footballer should be. It’s no surprise you represented your country. It’s no surprise you conquered a sub-four-hour marathon. And it’s certainly no surprise that you have written your name into the history books at The Deres. In total, you made 153 appearances (+1 from the bench) and scored 9 goals — numbers that only scratch the surface of your impact. Because whilst those stats are solid, they will never fully capture your leadership, consistency, and the standards you set every single day. Your talent speaks for itself. I’ve lost count of the number of people who have commented on how good you are after watching you play. We have been proud to watch you wear our colours, proud to have you lead us, and proud that your next challenge is such an exciting one. I watched you walk through the door as a young man fresh out of professional football. Today, I watch you leave as a well-rounded, career-driven gentleman, and I’m proud that this club could play a small part in that journey. Thank you, sincerely, for everything you have given this club. Thank you for the friendship you have given me in return. And thank you for the countless memories that we will keep forever. Most of all, thank you for being you. Once a Dere, always a Dere. 💙🤍 Thank you, Geordie

I don’t have enough words to describe my captain @robstrachan_ who made his 150th appearance for the club @EBTheDeres today and Freddie Cray who made his 100th appearance - I’m so proud of you both - great football players and great people. Thank You 🦌⚽️❤️

The skipper knows he is in good company @robstrachan_ 🤜 but in all seriousness the best person I’ve come across in football, there are not enough words for how much I think of him as a person and as a captain. 👏

So many words to describe Rob as a player but as a human he’s even better @robstrachan_ , and that is testament to @paulstrachan45 and @KathyStrachan when I started this journey I said I wanted good people around me. Now let’s go and compete again and continue to improve 🤝🦌❤️

A special mention to our captain @robstrachan_ who made his 100th appearance for @EBTheDeres today - a top player and top person who is well respected at the club. Welcome to the 100 club Rob - pleasure to have you leading this group 🦌⚽️
