Today my friend died. She was 24. In January ‘18 she was diagnosed with stage 3 BC, had mastectomy & chemo. July ‘18: mets to skin & lung. She had 5 different chemos and nothing worked. 9 months later she’s dead leaving her 2 kids & husband. THIS IS CALLED A CHRONIC ILLNESS?

Yeah, I feel very detached from so much of the breast cancer culture by being de novo stage 4. I’ve never experienced: breast cancer surgery, reconstruction, lymphodema or the hope that I will live a normal lifespan.
