🎉 Excited to share that my paper EmoLo, which introduces a locomotion method using Open Duck Mini, is now available on IEEE Xplore! 🤖 My work was presented at IEEE RO-MAN 2026 and was also featured in IEEE Spectrum’s Video Friday! 🎥 EmoLo: Emotion-Inspired Expressive Locomotion via Single-Policy Reinforcement Learning on Low-Cost Bipedal Robots Masato Kobayashi Project page: mertcookimg.github.io/emolo/

↓論文リンク jstage.jst.go.jp/article/iee…

Happy to see that GenDOM, our Real2Sim2Real approach for deformable object manipulation presented at ICRA 2024, has been getting more citations recently! 🤖📈

早くもULOHA論文が引用されたと通知がありました🙌 嬉しいです🌊🤖
🎉Introducing our research: ULOHA🌊🤖🏖️ We built an underwater bimanual robot learning platform with custom hardware and software extending LeRobot—from demos to autonomous skills. Hardware & software coming soon! ⭐A GitHub star would mean a lot to us! github.com/mertcookimg/ULOHA

In robotics, Gemini 4 Argon is speeding up real-world physical learning. We let Argon watch a video of a human playing cornhole. It mapped the environment, calculated whole-body joint movements, and autonomously built the simulation code to practice. When transferred to Apptronik’s Apollo humanoid, the robot sank seven straight shots in a real-world trial.

Special thanks to Kobayashi sensei! The paper wont happen without his continuous direct support and guidance even until the conference. Looking back at starting from zero three years ago to where I am now, I've learned an incredible amount under his guidance.

So happy to receive this comment from my student😃 The paper wont happen without his continuous direct support and guidance even until the conference. Looking back at starting from zero three years ago to where I am now, I've learned an incredible amount under his guidance.
#IROS2026 in Pittsburgh was truly an amazing experience! 🇺🇸🤖⭐ Meeting new people, reconnecting with friends, and finally meeting researchers I have long admired made these days incredibly inspiring and fulfilling. This year, I had three papers presented at the IROS main conference. All three grew from research topics that my students and I started together after I became an Assistant Professor. Two were presented by my students, and I had the opportunity to present one myself. I was also very honored to receive an award! 🏆 I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has been involved in and supported our research. I already feel a little sad that it’s over, but after taking some time off to rest and recharge, I’ll be ready for the next challenge! Classes at the university also start again after the break, so it’s time to get back to work. 💪 Thank you, Pittsburgh and IROS 2026, for all the wonderful memories. Hope to see you all again somewhere in the world! 🌎 #IROS2026 #Robotics
