Had a great time meeting with Van Holston! I love that he attends River Valley and is stepping up to run for State Senate in District 55.
If you live in District 55, be sure to learn more about Van and make your voice heard this election!
Met with @LisaDemuthMN and talked about issues that are important to our church, our community and Minnesota’s future. Prayed for her at the end of our meeting and grateful she would stop by our offices to meet up and talk about these things. She has my vote and I’m praying she wins in November!

UPDATE: Be at the Eden Prairie School Board Mting, Monday, Oct 12th, to demand safety for YOUR kids
Overwhelming response & concern from EP parents. In discussions with many, the consensus is we want to know what happened, who did it, what is the current treat level, and how will our kids be safer immediately.
ZERO responses from Eden Prairie School officials after dozens of phone calls, emails, and a petition with over 600 signatures requesting a forum on school safety. Therefore, we are shifting our plan from Friday to Monday.
Eden Prairie Parents Demand Safety for YOUR Kids:
Eden Prairie School Board & City Council Meeting
MONDAY, October 12th, at 5:30 pm
Valley View Campus, 11840 Valley View Road
Whatever the agenda was, a shooting at our Homecoming Football Game and our concern for our kids safety today is the priority we will be discussing.
I’m trying to find solutions and asking how can the church help with what we’re facing in MN with the Somali gang problem and a growing Somali subculture. We’ve hit a saturation point and we have a serious problem to solve. Funding another placement is the type of false compassion that only will make it worse. No longer can we have religious groups bringing in more Somali immigrants.
We need to speak up and show up in public. Show up at the school board and the county board when a violent student is being allowed to stay in school to protect the disparity numbers. Show up and even run for office. We have to change this problem one seat at a time. When we show up, and run for office, the leaders see we’re serious. Overcome your fear and let’s stand together and not let them cancel our voices. This will take courage, for the sake of your children, find the courage!
The Church can help teach English, without English there is no assimilation. Business owners can hire those that want out of welfare and willing to stand with those brave enough to speak out against the lawbreakers. We need to fund initiatives that work, not mosques, imam programs, or clan nonprofits. Another photo op or money given to groups that have not solved the problem is a waste of money and only perpetuates the problem.
The Church can serve the people already affected. Rideshare drivers, shop owners, families who pulled kids from a school, Somali parents whose sons are being recruited. If we don’t stand with them, they will be pulled back into the destructive pattern in the community.
The church can and must pray! We can organize prayer walks and prayer rally’s and let the believers and the community know they are not alone.
For everyone, stop calling the things that will fix this problem hateful and racist. Stop opposing the needed changes and calling it compassion. Push back against those that want to silence the voice of truth. The critique is a record, not a theory: jobs, English, welfare, crime, and schools, here and in every other dense Somali settlement around the world is a problem and ignoring it will lead to destruction. Calling these efforts racism will not fix the problem. If anyone can fix this I’m betting on Minnesotans IF we’re willing to face the truth, vote for new leaders that won’t ignore this and having the courage to make all the changes as we work together.
Minnesota’s Somali settlement is a case of compassion without a standard. It is failing and we are at a critical moment. It is what happens when a low-education refugee population from a clan-based, low-trust society is settled in one metro, given immediate access to a generous welfare state, and told that maintaining a separate culture is the goal.
There are about 80,000 to 110,000 people, most already citizens, concentrated in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Ramsey, and St. Cloud with new enclaves and concentrations building in neighboring counties. There are too many to undo and that is not a legal option as well so let’s look for real solutions. We need to stop feeding the problem.
**What has failed**
Equal rules were dropped. Students see Somali classmates skip the punishments everyone else gets.
About 12 gangs, roughly 300 kids with an additional Halo of perhaps 1000 more young men and thousands that will not cross them. There are a known 14 homicides and 100-plus shootings in two years, plus incredible amounts of carjackings, ongoing fights and physical altercations, and mall robberies.
Welfare is the norm. About half the children in poverty, weak English after a decade, food stamps and Medicaid in most households. (79% are on some form of welfare.
Fraud used the same nonprofits that did the welcoming. Meal, autism, and housing cases were overwhelmingly this network.
No Western country with a dense Somali population has closed the gap. Sweden is worse.
** Send them back is not a real option.**
Most are US-born or naturalized. Citizens cannot be deported for failed integration.
Some are removable, non-citizens after serious convictions, status fraud, and the few thousand who never naturalized. That is a slice and not a realistic solution.
**What would work**
Same offense, same consequence in schools and courts. No racial suspension targets.
Federal gun charges, adult charging for carjacking, trespass bans, witness support.
English and work required for cash and food aid. Contract bans after fraud convictions.
Stop new placements and chain migration into Minnesota.
Deport the removable slice. Offer paid exit to anyone who will take it. Do not pretend the citizens are leaving.
Churches: quit the resettlement pipeline, back one standard, help individuals who will live by it. Stop the feel good compassion that is actually hurting not helping. In the Muslim community, Imams need to stop making an apology from leaders naming Somalis a condition for helping. They must stop defending the wrongdoing otherwise they are a veto to any progress.
Electing new leaders that will not allow the corruption to continue. Holding all of our elected leaders, principles, administrators, and religious leaders accountable. Many of our current leaders are in on the grift and cover up and it’s time for this to end. Others live in fear of retribution for breaking with the ranks.
** If there’s a model we can follow, it’s Denmark, not Sweden. **
Denmark already has done the version people called cruel: lower benefits, temporary status, breakup of the enclaves, mandatory early learning of Danish. They cut the inflow of Somalis. It did not remove the citizens. Minnesota has not done even the mild version of that. “Minnesota Nice” is the perfect environment for the problem to continue, we need to toughen up. If not, the neighborhoods and the schools are in huge trouble. It’s way past time to take this problem seriously and we need everyone to work together to turn things around in Minnesota.
@annbauerwriter thank you for weighing in. We need to solve this.
If you talk to MN teenagers they will tell you that they are fine with anyone being in the schools. MN is not racist, especially the younger generation. But they are disturbed that the Somali students are allowed to do almost anything with no punishments. Other students are disciplined, punished, expelled and yet nothing happens to the Somali students. They get treated as a special class and they now know this and take advantage of it.
Our teachers, administrators, police, judges, government officials, and also Somali leaders are allowing Somalis to not assimilate and to abuse the system and their neighbors. This will lead to the destruction of our communities, and I believe we need to clearly name the problem because it’s not wide spread throughout, it’s a clearly defined group. Once we name it and admit it, then ALL of us can work to fix the problem with our new neighbors and get a community where all can thrive.
I’m saddened by the vitriol on these comments. Seriously, we need to solve this problem, I have children and grandchildren here and 1000’s of children in our church and they need leaders to come up with REAL solutions. There is a huge problem facing our State and it demands a solution and not ignoring the problem or vilifying anyone that can solve this problem.
Christians need to show up and vote in this election. If we show up we can decide this election. Local elections in MN matter more than ever.
FAITH IN ACTION: Southern Baptist Convention president fires back at calls for pastors to stay out of politics, urging Christian leaders to 'step up' ahead of midterm elections.
Willy Rice argues that abortion, marriage, gender identity and immigration are deeply theological issues that demand a pastoral voice in the public square.
Rice says the political and theological left never withdrew from politics — and that their silence created a vacuum conservative Christians are now paying for.

ROW-THE-BOAT! Congrats to PJ Fleck and the entire team! Beating Michigan feels extra special this year!
We need to address this problem. It’s not bad to admit we have a Somali gang problem that needs to be fixed now. Anyone that doesn’t want to address this and fix the problem is a greater problem. I love my family, I love my church community and I love my neighbor, it is not wrong to admit the problem, name the problem and fix the problem. We don’t have to live this way. Let’s bless our State by bringing solutions, leaders that care for all of us and restoring the State we love.
It’s time that we really take the election serious. We need people that can bless the state of Minnesota and our nation because they have the values that we hold. I donated THIS Week to two candidates, never done that before, but it’s serious. We need to have candidates that will bless our state and nation with the wonderful conservative values that we hold.
Minnesota, it’s time for us to elect a new Attorney General.
Ron Schultz is the guy that will bless our State and I pray that we elect this man. Vote Nov 3rd or earlier.
Met with @aaronpaul54A today. He is running for MN House 54A. Praying for him as he is part of our church. Hope he wins as he represents the values we hold!
It was also great to have @BenBakebergMN join us!
