People with genuine NPD or BPD can be so creative and bizarre in ways you couldnβt possibly anticipate, no matter how cynical you are, that it becomes pretty obvious when youβre encountering the real deal
i donβt think it was narcissism for me but i was totally unprepared for my first serious encounter with a person with a full-blown personality disorder. they did things it would never have occurred to me a person could do. radically altered my sense of the true depths of human misery and dysfunction and sin. itβs an experience that stays with you
