Just used @hellogovapp. Honestly, a total fail. Exposes the problem of probabilistic AI when working with messy human processes. Even worse when the stakes are high and the use case is infrequent.
This is fantastic! What an amazing opportunity for early career talent in Boston!
Introducing WHOOP Pace Setters for the Class of 2027
This is a new careers program designed to find exceptional young people at the very beginning of their careers and give them the opportunity to make an extraordinary impact.
At a time when many companies are cutting jobs and pulling back on early-career hiring, WHOOP is going in the opposite direction and now looking to actively hire graduating seniors.
Conventional wisdom is that AI is going to eliminate entry level jobs and young people are now less valuable. I believe the opposite is more true: AI is a great equalizer and young graduates stand to benefit the most.
I started WHOOP when I was a 22 year old senior in college. It wasn’t just the first company I started, it was my first full-time job. I know firsthand that young people have remarkable potential if they're willing to work hard and learn. Our new Pace Setters program is all about finding the next generation of exceptional talent.
In July 2027, we’ll welcome our first class of Pace Setters into full-time roles across teams at WHOOP. We’re looking for exceptional graduating students who are ambitious, intellectually curious, competitive, AI ready, and willing to work incredibly hard.
Come join us.
Thank you @stephpalmeri. We are grateful for the impact you've had on this firm over the last four years. In particular, some of my fondest memories at work have been thanks to your vision and intentionality with founders. Looking forward to what's next for you.
After four years at @NextViewVC, I'm stepping into a new chapter. I moved from Partner to Venture Partner and will keep supporting portfolio companies as a board member and advisor while I turn my attention to what's ahead. On what matters in this work: stephpalmeri.medium.com/the-…
A few principles I’ve come to believe about competition:
1) You’re more likely to win or lose because of your own company’s actions than those of your competition. This is particularly true of startups but I’ve found surprisingly true at scale as well.
2) Being copied isn’t always inspiring. But it usually means you’re leading. Don’t waste energy looking over your shoulder. Lead, don’t follow.
3) There’s more to learn from customers than competitors. Consumer markets are hard, but they’re honest. Sales, engagement, and retention are the only scoreboard that matters.
4) There’s a difference between obsessing over competitors and harnessing a deeply competitive spirit. The former distracts you from your true intuition. The latter gives you the extra motivation to do your best work.
5) Creating a market is valuable. Continuing to lead after others copy you is even more valuable. You’re innovative and durable.
6) Remember big, growing markets attract competition. Competition validates the opportunity.
Now go win.
Excited for @skyfallai to come out of stealth. Super ambitious team with huge aspirations. Congrats!
We're excited to announce that Skyfall has emerged from stealth.
For years, the foundation model market has relied on a single paradigm: scaling laws for LLMs - more data, more compute, bigger models. However, we believe the next generation of AI models requires a different approach. Skyfall is solving the hardest open problems in frontier AI: long-horizon planning, data inefficiency, and brittle performance in dynamic real-world environments. To achieve the team's vision of a completely autonomous enterprise, the team is developing a next-generation frontier model using Continual Learning and World Modeling.
Our CEO and Co-Founder Sam Pasupalak (@spisallyouneed) shares what's next for Skyfall and why we're building a new category of frontier AI.
Read the full announcement to learn more about our vision and how we're addressing the foundational gaps in today's AI systems.
PS: we also announced something big 👀 in the article
New Post: Where Do You Live on the Valuation Curve? Inspired by wonderful data from @PeterJ_Walker @cartainc
TLDR - you live somewhere on this curve. But probably not where you started. And I think that has big implications.
