Day 2.2/
OK this one is smaller, but we removed some friction for when building on the API. Happy building.

Over the next 28 days, each day we’ll either ship one thing that is a clear improvement and relevant for most codex/work users or ship a full reset. Let the improvements begin.
GPT-6 Astra is amazing, but the usage limits are killing it.
Codex usage drains incredibly fast, and if you want more, upgrading to Pro isn’t even possible right now.
People are ready to pay for higher limits, but they simply can’t.
OpenAI needs to sort this out.
Facing the exact same issue here. We are paying for a premium tier to build actual projects, but the current limits barely let us finish a standard debugging session without hitting the cap.
Before ChatGPT removed the 5-hour limit, the $200 Pro plan basically felt UNLIMITED🔥
I couldn’t even fully use my allowance within those 5-hour windows
But after they removed the 5-hour limit, I can now exhaust my weekly limit in just 3–4 days
And I’m working the same number of hours as before no overworking, no extra usage
Did OpenAI reduce the usage limits for the $200 plan, or is something else going on ?
Any Pro users feeling the same ?
This data perfectly explains what we are feeling in practice. The context windows on the new models drain the quota so aggressively that professional coding workflows are constantly interrupted. Thank you for exposing this!
🚨 Reddit users say OpenAI may have cut Codex limits in half
NerfTrack estimates the weekly ChatGPT Plus limit dropped from roughly $160 in API value to about $80 within a few days. Users on the $100 Pro 5x and $200 Pro 20x plans are also reporting their weekly quota now disappears in 1 to 3 days.

Exactly! I am running Codex CLI and hitting the wall incredibly fast too. A $200 Pro plan shouldn't paralyze our workflow in hours. We can't build real software like this. @OpenAIDevs needs to address this immediately!
GPT 6 Astra limits are TERRIBLE on a $200 ChatGPT Pro subscription.
I just blew through my entire week in about 4 hours of work.
OpenAI keeps doing these resets that are just prolonging the inevitable.
Fix the limits @OpenAI .

GPT-5.6 is powerful, but Pro limits drain way too fast for real coding. Context windows fill in just a few interactions, breaking the dev workflow. Professional devs need viable limits! @OpenAI @OpenAIDevs @sama #ChatGPTPro
Astra is fully rolled out to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users in Codex and ChatGPT Work.
Go build!

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Thanks for reading. We will do a global reset of the usage for all paid subscriptions so that you can keep enjoying Astra after burning through all of it doing fun 3D modeling in blender. The work week is about to start.
Lands around 6pm PST today.

Our best model yet: GPT-6 Astra.
– Build agents for complex long-running work.
– Solve engineering problems with less rework.
– Create well-designed functional interfaces.
– Take on harder questions with confidence.
GPT-6 Astra combines computer use, asynchronous tool calling, and mid-response steering to handle longer, more involved workflows.

We are progressing through the rollout of Astra. Pro and Business subscriptions get it first, some of you should start seeing it across ChatGPT Work and Codex.
And then we will proceed with rollout to all of Plus as fast as we can.

Some Plus and Business users won't yet get access to Astra today, we've got you covered with a banked reset. Lands by end of day and if you create your account by 8pm PT then you'll get it too.

We are going to need a different AGI benchmark. Where is the goalpost moving next?

We are starting to release GPT-6 Astra and we are doing it as carefully and quickly as possible. It was very important to us that we bring it to all Plus users and not only Pro, Business and Enterprise.
It will take a few days for the rollout to complete and behind the scenes many novel systems will operate at scale for the first time and we are bringing a lot of compute up.
It is pure magic.

fantastic
Congratulations, Parabens OpenAI,
The best!!!!
Because we are beyond happy to have Astra rolled out today ahead of schedule and you have been super patient with us (not really, but it’s ok!)… we will do the full banked reset today too for all Plus, Pro and Business users. Lands end of day.
Happy Astra day and enjoy a phenomenal weekend.
PS: If you create the account or upgrade before 8pm PT you will get it too. Still time!
