BREAKING: The Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) says Russia is developing a satellite designed to carry a nuclear weapon into orbit, potentially threatening thousands of spacecraft simultaneously.
In its newly released 2026 space threat assessment, the DIA warns that a nuclear detonation in orbit could disable or destroy thousands of satellites and create radiation belts lasting years, damaging spacecraft long after the initial explosion.
The threat extends beyond military satellites to GPS, communications, weather forecasting and critical commercial space infrastructure worldwide.
The report does not confirm that Russia has deployed a nuclear weapon in orbit.

The Orgy Inspector, by Alan Marshall. Greenleaf Books, 1968.
I'd always assumed this was a deregulated industry, but there you go.
Also not sure the clarinet is needed here (I don't think it's an English horn?)
Later Anglo-Saxon law could punish an adulterous woman by cutting off her nose and ears.
Mutilation was not seen simply as vengeance. It could be described as punishment of the body while preserving the soul.
The law disfigured the sinner.
Then called it correction. #Edvane #GrimHistory

#vss365 “Enjoy the feast, mortals, but make no sound,” warned the Archfae. “Stay your raptures or be guests of this castle forever.”
They ate and drank in silence until a servant stumbled, spilling wine across their captor's robes. Delighted to see him humiliated, they erupted in #cheering.
The banquet vanished. Doors slammed shut.
Their captor wiped his robes and smiled. “Never fails.” #Edvane #DarkFantasy

A GOFO delivery driver in Virginia Beach literally walked up and hurled a package directly at a resting black cat named Opie, smiled about it, and walked away.
Absolute vile behavior.
Under King Æthelstan, an Anglo-Saxon moneyer caught striking false coin could lose the hand that made it.
The law ordered that the severed hand be displayed at the mint as a warning to others.
Counterfeiting did not just cost a man his livelihood.
It could leave part of him hanging over it. #Edvane #GrimHistory

Enjoyed reading your retelling of the magpie rhyme
Magpies. One for sorrow, two for joy. We all know the nursery rhyme. But what on earth was the backstory? I could find nothing that satisfied me, and so I wrote my own. And naturally I gave it a darker history and a place where the warnings have consequences. The Magpies of Hagley Stile. #Edvane #Folklore LINK IN COMMENTS

After Walt died, the head of development insisted it was funny, and removed everything that would scare kids.

🇲🇽 A MEXICAN TEENAGER BUILT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER THAT USES SOUND INSTEAD OF WATER OR CHEMICALS
A student created “Vortex Tech,” a portable prototype that uses low-frequency sound waves around 30 Hz to disrupt the air feeding small flames.
In tests, it put out small fires in roughly 5 to 8 seconds.
She built it with her adviser and uncle after getting inspired by a sonic-cannon concept.
It’s still an experimental prototype for small fires, but a teenager from Mexico turned bass into a fire extinguisher 😮

#vss365 “Master, how did our world #start?”
“We murdered a god, boy. Built our kingdoms upon its bones, filled its wounds with oceans and drew our magic from its dying flesh.”
“Then why does the earth tremble?”
The old wizard stared into the fire. “Because we never taught it how to die.” #Edvane #DarkFantasy

“Oh, that's the fire front. It's broken through. It's broken through, guys. The fire can no longer be held back. The wind is extremely strong.
This is the current situation at Gunung Leuser National Park, at the main camp, Tenting Harapan.
The volunteers have tried their best, but sadly, the fire has broken through. We can't hold it back because the wind is so strong, and the flames are getting closer to the post.
We and our fellow volunteers have done everything we can, especially the members of Pokdarwis Tanjung Harapan, Mas Marka Tanjung Harapan, and the relevant authorities.
Oh God, this is so heartbreaking.”
