Hitting some practice shots on the golf course can be tempting, but the last thing most courses need right now is more divots and ball marks. Please save practice for the practice area 👇

I play golf with a guy sometimes at the club.
He fills every divot, his and others, fixes ball marks anywhere he sees them.
He’ll also pick trash from the bushes.
Sweet, kind, gentleman.
Also a billionaire.
Be that guy.

Seeding bent greens in Aug/Sept, expect 20 growing weeks to produce a playing surfaces. Expect two years for a new seeding to reach it's genetic potential. It is a big mistake to open with too much play too soon - first with a soft opening, limited play, members only. Trust me.

A very sad day indeed.
Dr. Vargas left an indelible mark on our great industry and so many students and professionals he’s helped over the course of his legendary career.
Grateful to have called him a mentor and friend.
I’m sure more info will be coming out from MSU, but I just heard that Dr. Vargas passed today. Sad day for the world of turfgrass and plant pathology. #RIPDrVargas
