You can make human beings. Are you listening to me? You can literally make human beings. And it gets even better than that, because they’re not like random strangers, they’re literally constructed from the same genetic code that makes you who you are. They’re made from the same parts that make up your mother or your brother or your sister or your grandmother. They are new versions of the people on this planet who you love the most. It’s the craziest thing ever. It matters more than anything else, by an extremely wide margin. The fact that people log on here and talk about how they prefer sleeping in or going to the movies whenever they want is practically demonic, by comparison.
I still remember when my son smiled at me for the first time. to witness a human soul come from nothing is nothing less than a miracle.

What to do the last week before a marathon? Some light jogging? Upper body weights session? #TCSNYCMarathon

If the Spartans from 300 could be fit and shredded, I’m fairly certain you can get fit and shredded today without taking 5000 supplements a day.

My 3 hour run today turned into a 2 hour run/walk and a 1 hour walk. Old me would have fought through my calf tightness/knee soreness. Slightly more experienced me still got a great session in with much less risk.
Avoid big mistakes For a recreational runner, training isn’t so much about precision, it’s more about avoiding big mistakes. If you’re agonizing over whether to do 6 x 1000m vs 8 x 800m intervals or a 20 vs 22 mile long run…you’ll be fine with either I bet. Let’s say you’ve got a sore throat before those intervals, or you’ve developed knee tendinitis right before that long run. Those are the decisions that really matter, those are the potential big mistakes you need to avoid. I’m skipping the intervals and doing at most a short easy run. Megadosing Vitamin C and Zinc, eating pho, sitting in the sauna, getting a good nights sleep, trying to kill that cold in its tracks. I’m skipping the long run and doing a big bike ride instead, split squat isos, leg extensions and a bunch of strength training to get on top of that tendonitis. Runners who get to the starting line healthy and fit aren’t training perfectly, they are just avoiding big mistakes, making adjustments when necessary. Forget about following your training plan precisely. Take each day as it comes and make smart decisions. You’ll do well on that alone 🏃🏼‍♂️

A barrier for many Underdog Devs to getting a full-time software job is having the time to practice and become interview-ready, while also supporting themselves and their families financially.

Survival tips for post-verification Twitter: Judge every argument by its merits rather than the credentials of the speaker. View every claim critically. Read primary sources. Consider every issue on the basis of principles you believe in. Actually, always do those things.
