A round of applause for the launch of the Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC)! This is a historic moment for early childhood education and care in Illinois. Following the Commission on Equitable Early Childhood Education and Care's 2021 recommendations and the signing of SB 1 into law in 2024, the unified agency will better support Illinois families and providers by creating a more equitable system that is easier to navigate while strengthening the state's ability to identify gaps, address challenges, and better serve young children. We look forward to continued collaboration with the agency, stakeholders, and partners to support its success in transforming #ECEC. hubs.la/Q04njkM70

Thank you @GovPritzker This is great news for students across the state! @MartinVTorres
Last week, @GovPritzker & @MartinVTorres released the remaining 2% of FY26 —about $25 million across public 4-years. While we appreciate this effort, we must take the uncertainty out of #highered funding by passing a strategy that creates a stable landscape for IL's institutions.

Thank you @GovPritzker! This is great news for students on every Illinois campus!
Good news! Late last week @GovPritzker released the remaining 2% of FY26 funding for #highered that was previously withheld in contingency—including about $25 million for public universities. The absence of those funds exacerbated the fiscal pressure universities and students already face due to long-term state under-investment. It is time to adopt a state funding formula that is adequate, equitable, and stable. Great news: a compelling solution exists! (SB13/HB1581) #PassAEF #transformILHigherEd
